We are excited to welcome a Staff Civil Engineer and Technical Leader to our Australian office in Perth. This individual will take a prominent role in our Track Inspection Services and Asset & Project Management Consulting division, driving the expansion of our capabilities, and fostering growth in the railroad pit-to-port environment and national railroads.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Track Inspection and Consulting business area, driving its growth and success in the railroad pit to port environment and national railroads in Australia.
2. Develop and execute strategic plans to expand our market presence and attract new clients in the railway sector.
3. Utilize your extensive expertise to provide technical leadership in track inspection, asset management, and project management for our consulting services.
4. Provide expert guidance and consulting services to clients on rail and port engineering, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience.
5. Lead project teams and guide the implementation of track inspection and asset management projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and meeting client objectives.
6. Utilize your experience in resourcing, people management, and interpersonal skills to build and lead high-performing teams.
7. Implement effective business and financial management practices to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
8. Oversee project lifecycle stages including planning, design, execution, data analysis, reporting, and delivery while adhering to budgetary and timeline considerations.
9. Play a pivotal role in developing project plans, project manuals, and engineering designs aligned with best practices and tailored to client specifications.
10. Contribute to the implementation of robust quality, safety, and risk management protocols, reinforcing operational excellence across all projects.
11. Manage contract-related tasks such as estimating, tendering, and financial control, ensuring efficient project execution.
12. Foster strong relationships and collaboration with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes and exceed client expectations.
13. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in track inspection, asset management, and rail operations.
14. Cultivate a culture of safety, health, and environmental consciousness within the organization.
15. Serve as a technical mentor, offering guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
16. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the railroad industry, with a strong focus on track inspection, maintenance management (renewal & repair), and project management, delivering projects across large national rail networks and dedicated heavy haul lines.
3. In-depth knowledge of rail engineering, including safety regulations, industry standards, and relevant legislation.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in project management, track inspection methodologies, and asset managementplanning.
5. Proven experience in leading and supervising project teams, managing resources, and ensuring projectsuccess.
6. Proven expertise in multi-disciplinary railway project delivery, general management, strategic planning contract management, and administration.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at communication with diverse stakeholders.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Access.
9. Completion of relevant training courses in rail asset management, project management, and inspectiontechnologies.
10. Demonstrate leadership to foster a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
1. Postgraduate education in management or engineering.
2. Sound knowledge and proven experience in railway engineering and construction principles, practices, materials, and equipment used in railway civil construction.
3. Proficiency in budgeting, financial control, and estimating and tendering procedures.
4. Proven involvement in technical associations and leadership positions in the rail industry.
5. International experience in railway rehabilitation and maintenance.
