Purpose:To provide an efficient and courteous service to all patients, whilst working within the Standard Operating Procedures as set out by the Pharmacy. Duties & Responsibilities: Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive and make all necessary preparations to receive patients. When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the pharmacy is totally secured and internal lights are off. Process paper and EPS prescriptions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring the items are fully labelled and ready to be checked by the pharmacist. Process prescriptions generated via the Golden Tote scheme. Query prescription issues with the patients GP Practice including advising of alternatives for out of stock items. Assist the pharmacist in carrying out a Controlled Drug stock check as required. Process MDS trays following pharmacy SOPs for those patients in need. Put OTC, retail and prescription sales through the till via cash or card payment. Cash up daily including printing till reports, doing end of day banking on card machine and rectifying any till discrepancies. Enter data on Pharmoutcomes for NHS Services including vaccinations, emergency contraception (EHC), methadone supervised consumption and minor ailments. Check retrievals area every 2 months for uncollected prescriptions. Conduct date checks and remove out of date stock on a monthly basis. Dispose of returned medication in the DOOP bins, ensuring that the labels are placed in confidential waste and the cardboard in the recycling waste. Together with the pharmacist, destruct Controlled Drugs in accordance with SOPs and national guidelines. Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations including information relating to The Ridings Medical Group patients. Collect and record petty cash in line with pharmacy policy. Take part in an annual Performance and Development review as required by the Pharmacy. Here at Barts Heart Centre we have 10 cath labs that provide treatment for patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures, interventional, electrophysiology and TAVI. Our cardiac catheter labs also support our nationally recognised emergency heart attack, arrhythmia and structural pathways. We also provide specialist cardiology services for heart failure, endocarditis, grown up congenital heart and inherited cardiac conditions.

You will have an opportunity to rotate internally between Cardiology Intervention, Electrophysiology & Structural in order to develop a full range of skills and be supported with in house training.

We have created exciting opportunities for experienced Cath Lab nurses to develop clinically in advanced nursing practices such as Implantable Loop recorders Implantations and Nurse-Led Radial Access.

You will need significant experience in cardiology cath lab and be able to demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge. You will be expected to take an active role in helping us to continuously improve on our patient centred care.
