The Administrator (Clinical Coding) will be required to undertake the following duties; Maintain and process all incoming and outgoing correspondences adequately and in line with practice procedures Daily processing of incoming correspondence via post or electronically Daily scanning of received clinical letters into Docman for processing. Importation of electronically received clinical letters into Docman for processing. Distributing clinic letters fairly and according to addressed clinical recipient. Using workflow optimisation to reduce GP workload through direct processing with no clinical input of a variety of correspondence types i.e. A&E letters, referral letters, if no clinical input is required. Ensuring all clinical correspondence is correctly filed in electronic patient records, in accordance with letter/department type and dates. Extraction of relevant data from clinical letters for coding onto electronic patient records, using the clinical code browser to select the most clinically appropriate SNOMED-CT code. Distribution of all received post to appropriate team members as necessary if not required for clinical coding. Filing of received clinical correspondence in a correct manner, in accordance with practice policy.
