My client based in Montrose is looking for an experienced Technical Clerk to join their team on a contract basis.

The role is expected to last around 6 months, and will be rewarded with a one-off bonus payment at the end of assignment.

The suitable candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and be comfortable to work in a male dominant environment, you should also have a full UK driving licence should you be required to visit other areas of the site.

Duties of the role:

• To assist with data collection and summarisation
• To assist with proposal generation, ensuring the correct submittal procedures are followed
• To navigate through Excel, creating and updating spreadsheet data
• Ensure suppliers are kept up to date with records and confidentiality agreements, supplier insurance and supplier details

Rate: £12-15ph depending on experience

To provide clerical support and assist the Ward Manager or her Deputy on the admission/transfer and discharge of patients. To greet and direct all visitors e.g. patients, relatives, Chaplains, to the appropriate member of staff or patient. To update the inpatient diary, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date and correspond with PAS. To keep records up to date by using PAS i.e. patients admitted, transferred, discharged from the Ward. Liaise with nursing staff over the discharge of patients, including where appropriate the collection of property from General Office, dispatching notes, arranging transport to peripheral areas. To prepare the clinical coding form, inpatient sick certificate and GP discharge letters for each patient episode and ensure it is completed by medical staff. To ensure that all documentation is complete when the patient is discharged from the ward and that the discharge letter is faxed to GPs within 24 hours. To arrange where appropriate follow-up outpatient appointments. Ensure that admission procedures and regulations for Overseas Visitors are met including EC patients. KEY DUTIES To support the Hearing Services management and clinical staff with clinical audit projects. To process/collate completed clinical audit data. To carry out exporting of data from Hearing Services systems into spreadsheets and reports. To perform data checks on data in excel and undertake analysis and suitable presentation of the data. To assist with the dissemination & collation of clinical audit data to and from clinicians and managers. To assist with maintaining the audit database, collate and enter data onto the database as part of the clinical audit activity. Work with clinical and management teams to assess and improve data completeness and data accuracy for quality and activity reports. Maintain the standards of Hearing Services department including confidentiality. To assist with taking calls to the team and dealing with them appropriately Identify errors and missing values in routinely collected clinical data and establish sustainable processes to reduce errors and improve data-quality. This might include identifying alternative electronic sources of information, other people with access to missing information, or in a small number of cases direct data-entry from paper records by the post holder. Develop working relationships with the informatics team to improve data-quality in data submission including checking data-files for common errors and omissions prior to submission, and answering queries after submission. Support the Hearing Services management team to refine and then document the common data-tasks currently being undertaken to allow these to be delivered by other people if required in the future. Support Hearing Service Management team develop and document new processes to minimise the use of identifiable data wherever possible for audit. Differentiate and develop separate process for requests for non-identifiable data for research to patient benefit.
