Job Description

Our Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance team push the boundaries of global healthcare through research and innovation. Through clinical trials and surveillance, we ensure the safety and efficacy of our existing and pipeline products to produce safe, effective, innovative medicine.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role is primarily accountable for the end-to-end performance and project management for assigned protocols in a country in compliance with ICH/GCP and country regulations, our policies and procedures, quality standards and adverse event reporting requirements internally and externally. The CRM could be responsible for a particular study for several countries in a cluster.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Main Point of Contact (POC) for assigned protocols and link between Country Operations and clinical trial team (CTT).

• Responsible for project management of the assigned studies: pro-actively plans, drives and tracks execution and performance of deliverables/timelines/results to meet country commitments from feasibility and site selection, recruitment, execution and close out.

• Accountable for performance for assigned protocols in a country in compliance with ICH/GCP and country regulations, our policies and procedures, quality standards and adverse event reporting requirements internally and externally.

• Reviews Monitoring Visits Reports and escalates performance issues and training needs to CRA manager and/or functional vendor and internal management as needed. o Performs Quality control visits as required.

• Leads local study teams to high performance: trains in the protocol other local roles, closely collaborates with and supports CRAs as protocol expert and coordinates activities across the different local country roles ensuring a strong collaboration (including the CTC, CRAs and COM).

• Responsible for creating and executing a local risk management plan for assigned studies.

• Ensures compliance with CTMS, eTMF and other key systems in assigned studies.

• Escalates as needed different challenges and issues to TA Head/CRD/CCQM and or CTT (as appropriate).

• Identifies and shares best practices across clinical trials, countries, clusters.

• Responsible for collaboration with functional outsourcing vendors, investigators, other external partners in assigned studies.

• Country POC for programmatically outsourced trials for assigned protocols.

• In this position, you will be responsible for building business relationships and representing our company to investigators as a customer-facing role.

• Serves local business needs as applicable in their country (if delegated can sign contracts and manage budgets).

• Supports local and regional strategy development consistent with long‐term corporate needs in conjunction with CRD, TAH and Regional Operations.

• Collaborates internally with HQ functions, regional and local operations, EU Clinical Development, Pharmacovigilance, Global Medical Affairs to align on key issues/decisions across the trials. Consult with GHH as needed.

What we are seeking:

The Research Support Specialist will support the research functions of the Climate Jobs Institute (CJI) program and contribute to and author independent research projects and collaborate with CJI faculty, staff, and ILR students on ongoing applied and academic research projects. Research work may involve conducting fieldwork related to research projects and collecting and analyzing information from archives, libraries, and other data and information centers. The individual will write and edit research reports, analyze current research and public policy, compile information and statistics, and generate literature reviews of ongoing research and education projects.

The position will provide legal research and analysis to support policy development and recommendations at the local, state, and national levels. This will involve using tools such as Lexis, Westlaw, and PowerSuite to understand complex regulatory environments in the fields of labor, energy, administrative, constitutional, contract, and employment law, and translate that research into presentations, policy reports, and internal memoranda.

The Research Support Specialist will also provide research assistance and perform research work for educational programs, including preparing presentations and crafting materials for CJI trainings. The individual will present at, participate in, and attend conferences, workshops, and public events related to research topics. The Research Support Specialist will work with undergraduate student fellows at the CJI. The individual will also edit grant and funding proposals, and write media articles for the CJI and ILR communications related to research topics.

This is a term, full-time, bargaining unit position that falls under the NYC ILR Extension exempt CWA contract. Initial appointment through June 30, 2025, position may be reappointed with approval based on available funding and work.

• Medical degree, preferable with specialty in Internal Medicine and/or research or molecular biology training.

Experience

Job Summary

Clinical Research Specialist is responsible for working in collaboration with the Clinical Research team and performing established clinical support for the conduct of clinical research trials. Working under the direction from leadership and the Clinical Research Coordinators to develop, implement and continue evolution of systems that ensure adherence to research protocols, institutional policies, local/state/federal regulations and “Good Clinical Practice.” Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, extended Healthcare providers, clinical research organizations, and regulatory agencies to ensure the safe and effective care of those who volunteer to be participants in clinical research.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Assist lead CRC in developing source document templates in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar program. Source documents should be routinely maintained to reflect accurate information that is required of sponsors by verifying against eCRF software.
• Completes relevant data collection, entry and analysis as and when needed.
• Coordinates the efforts of case finding and recruitment of study patients.
• Create, organize, submit, and maintain all pertinent study documents, records, and logs from start-up to study closure between sponsor and other offices. Documents would include regulatory documents, contracts, temperature logs, budgets, licenses, training documentation, etc.
• Creates and maintains study and subject specific case report forms. Develop data collection worksheets that ensure complete collection of data which can be accurately transmitted by data entry staff.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in collaboration with other members of the Clinical Research Team to provide safe quality care to our subject population and efficiently complete daily responsibilities which include the following:
• Develop documents and processes for successful trial implementation which are consistent with internal processes and procedures, regulatory requirements, and “Good Clinical Practice.”
• Facilitate site monitoring visits by assuring they have all the information and materials needed to effectively perform their job, assisting them while on site, close-out visit with investigator, addressing action items in monitoring letter.
• Follows study protocol in scheduling of tests, procedures, and administration of medications.
• Implement effective study-specific screening, enrollment, and follow-up processes.
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Clinical Research Experience
Education - Associates degree in Health Related Field
Certification - Clinical Research Coordinator Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
