About Us
Join our dynamic Student Success team located within our Student Journey Services at Murdoch University and play a vital role focused on providing high-level international student support, as well as managing processes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving student transition, progression and success across the student lifecycle.
The Role
As a Student Success Specialist, you will be at the centre of handling complex student cases, with a special focus on international student support and compliance. You will be tasked with the development, implementation and ongoing management of solutions to address emerging and ongoing challenges faced by students at Murdoch University. Student Success Specialists also provide expert-level guidance to both academic and professional staff, particularly in matters related to international student compliance.
Your key duties:
Develop, implement, and manage processes and procedures to ensure Murdoch University’s compliance with relevant legislation related to international students.
Case-manage complex, high-needs student cases.
Provide guidance to both academic and professional staff on issues related to international student support and compliance.
Provide line management to Student Success Officers to ensure the overall functioning of the Student Success Specialist team.
What you’ll bring to this role
A degree with at least four years of subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of legislation related to international students including the ESOS Act and National Code
Computing skills and experience using word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
Organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in providing complex case management services to individuals, preferably in an educational setting.
