How you’ll perform the role.

Gain a complete understanding of the following items:

• Facility layout and operation of MEP systems and the ability to illustrate site specific system one-lines with good accuracy.
• Gain a complete understanding of all aspects of data center operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
• Execute site-specific method of procedures (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and emergency operating procedures (EOP’s).
• Building Monitoring System (BMS) alarm functionality, alarm escalation/acknowledgement, and ability to extract data and trends
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including the ability to create, edit, implement, and close change management work orders.
• Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety standards
• Troubleshoot site mechanical and electrical system - specific to HVAC systems
• Complete rounds/inspections efficiently and detect anomalies during those rounds.

The Opportunity

This Mobile Software Verification Engineer I position works out of our Sylmar, CA location.  

Mobile Software Verification Engineer I Contribute to the verification and validation testing of Mobile software across Android and iOS mobile applications for Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) under a disciplined product development process that meets Abbott quality and appropriate regulatory agency requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work on verification and validation test designs, test scripts and test execution for CRM’s mobile software on Android and iOS platforms. Ensuring that all product development conforms to design specifications and coding standards for medical devices.

• Design and implement test scripts in programming languages such as C#, C++, Java and/or Python. Demonstrate good understanding and application of object-oriented programming principles per Abbott’s quality system practices and policies.

• Define and execute automation testing and integration testing strategy for one or more components and/or features.

• Ensure traceability and compliance of code implementation with software requirements.  

• Contribute to assessment on existing designs for new or changing requirements.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance verification and validation test artifacts including test plans and strategies, test protocols and interfaces, and implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated, semi-automated and manual test code and scripts. Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.

• Setup and configure test equipment including devices, test servers and tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test setups to ensure this does not impact test execution and results.

• Develop a good understanding of the business requirements, customer workflows, data interfaces and product behavior prior to developing test designs and test scripts.

• Participate in gathering and analysis of debug information towards finding the root cause of issues encountered with the mobile software and/or test code.

• Participate in assessment, evaluation and deployment of new tools and test frameworks for mobile software testing.

• Assist in the evaluation of selected designs as required through testing and full documentation of the results.

• Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

• Ensuring that standards and safety regulations are observed.  Addressing and discussing issues and proposed solutions with superiors.

• Apply best QA practices to remove daily blockers.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a range of software engineering disciplines using a variety of programming methods.
• Experienced using JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Appium, Selenium, and other QA related tools.
• Working knowledge of mobile software such as Xcode, Android studio, emulators, and simulators.

An Information Technologist (IT) utilizes knowledge and clinical laboratory experience to manage laboratory data and information. The IT assists all laboratory areas in the delivery of quality laboratory products and services with primary focus on the preanalytical and post analytical phases of laboratory services while functioning as the primary advocate for the customer. This position requires general knowledge of testing performed in all laboratory areas and the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility with minimal supervision by the director or manager. Other critical aspects include excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to quickly resolve customer issues or problems.

The Laboratory Information Technologist (LIT) receives specimens and verifies identification on these specimens, verifies information on the written request, transfers this information into the computer system and sends the specimen to the appropriate testing area(s).  The LIT retrieves laboratory data and reports and assists authorized personnel, while maintaining patient confidentiality.  This individual is also responsible for keeping the surrounding area clean and organized.

Job Duties:

• Utilizes computer systems to perform inquiries, order tests, transcribe results, generate billing, worksheets, and reports as assigned according to standard laboratory practices.
• Communicates effectively with nursing staff, physicians and other hospital departments.
• Demonstrates basic-keyboarding skills needed for a highly computerized laboratory environment.
