Scope
As an Infection Control Coordinator you need to know how to:
-Review patient records, microbiology cultures, chemistry reports, and admission data as sources for identifying infections
- Conduct patient care area rounds as necessary to identify case findings and environmental issues- Initiate epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infection or serious communicable disease concern

To provide leadership and subject matter expertise to Intermountain Healthcare staff and leaders, as part of Intermountain Healthcare's ongoing efforts to reduce operating, and capital costs in its physical plants across Utah and Idaho. This is a system-wide role, assigned to work on moderate to complex projects throughout the Intermountain system. This role works closely with both the Facility Management, and the Facility Planning and Development Departments. This position reports to the Manager, or a senior engineer of the Corporate Energy Management Program.
Job Essentials
1. Provides independent project management of mid-size projects, or large-size projects under the direction of senior team members.
2. Develops project level strategy and direction.
3. Mentors other team members to increase their skill and knowledge.
4. Handles most aspects of energy/facility project management including: budgeting, procurement, implementation, verification, and utility incentives
5. May directly manage others on the energy team.
6. Develops and utilizes standard metrics to assess the effectiveness of energy and water conservation efforts.
7. Works collaboratively with design engineers, project managers, and commissioning agents to implement projects, strategies, and promote energy optimization measures.
8. Teaches and trains facility management staff and leaders the principles of energy conservation and management, and the effect of proper maintenance procedures on energy consumption and equipment life.
9. Supports Facility Planning and Development (FP&D) and Facility Management (FM) by:
a. Creating standards and guidelines related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
b. Ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines.
c. Reviewing design documents from consulting design teams.
d. Commissioning and construction review of projects.
10. Stays abreast of best practices, new technologies, market dynamics, and trends, and acts as a subject matter expert and resource to others, advising on best practices and process improvement.
11. Works to implement energy efficient design and optimization strategies that protect Intermountain assets and operations.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Seven years of applicable experience in facility management, energy management, or construction.

Scope of work
Under supervision of the professional registered nurse and in accordance with competencies established, supports the provision of nursing care by performing patient care tasks as delegated within the Emergency Department.
