This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced global trade professional to join a growing legal compliance team. In this role, you will manage global trade-related procedures and projects while also participating in and supporting the broader Applied Materials Global Trade and Legal & Compliance Organization teams. You will report to the Senior Global Trade Manager for Due Diligence.
Working closely with team members across the Global Trade organization, as well as other compliance and business functions, you drive execution of daily sanctions, restricted party, and due diligence processes around the globe, performing reviews of customers, vendors, and other Applied Materials business partners to resolve identified issues according to established criteria or escalate to senior reviewers, as necessary. The Trade Manager will support the resolution of screening flags resulting from daily ongoing monitoring activities and direct maintenance of appropriate records. The Trade Manager will also contribute to routine audits of screening reviews and reporting metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end reviews of customers and vendors in order to ensure compliance with existing and emerging sanctions and export control laws and regulations.
- Perform daily restricted party screening and enhanced due diligence checks, resolving/escalating identified flags as appropriate, monitoring results, and releasing blocks as needed.
- Identify and triage compliance diligence flags identified during new customer onboarding and ongoing monitoring of customers and business partners.
- Collaborate with Trade Compliance team members and internal business stakeholders to identify potential process enhancements and develop new processes accordingly. Identify opportunities for greater efficiency in daily activities and work with cross-functional teams for improved operations.
- Support development and drive automation technologies/solutions to help streamline current manual processes.
- Manage records of screening reviews and approvals and respond to requests for information from a variety of business stakeholders.
- Conduct routine screening audits and root cause analyses to test processes and identify gaps; Work with management to develop remediation solutions.
- Provide training in support of compliance due diligence and Sanctioned Party list screening.
- Support ad-hoc Trade Compliance initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; Graduate degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in global export trade compliance, including the use of systems.
- Experience and comprehensive knowledge of export control and sanctions regulations, including EAR and OFAC.
- Experience in conducting compliance due diligence assessments.
- Ability to summarize complex data into succinct, actionable reviews for reviewers.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity in trade compliance activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, flexible, impeccable integrity, and good judgment.
- Collaborative by nature and able to build strong partnerships with other Applied functions such as order management, legal teams, and business-facing groups.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, global environment and ability to manage and prioritize a diverse and complex workload.
- Self-motivated, driven, and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong presentation, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and data visualization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Semiconductor or Technology background preferred.
- Additional language skills are a plus.

U.S. Salary Range:
$92,000.00 - $126,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
