The Leidos Civil Team has an opening for a Lead Engineering Planner to support the Federal Aviation Administration via the National Airspace System (NAS) Integration Support Contract (NISC IV). The candidate must provide facility and program support services to the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) Office of Facility Management (AMP). The candidate must provide detailed drawings and design support for space management. This includes design activities for interior space, structures, and facilities. The candidate must utilize basic principles of building layouts, construction, and mechanical systems to assess and plan space solutions within practical limitations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the contract as a Lead, being responsible for a small team of individuals on-site at the MMAC as they perform their daily tasks and coordination with FAA management. This position will back up the Leidos Deputy Task Order Manager when needed, providing oversight of the task order.
- Provide computer-aided design (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketchup, Archibus) to develop various 2D and 3D graphic representations of space designs, facilities, and office layouts for the MMAC.
- Execute space design support utilizing current industry advances in planning and design theories.
- Utilize basic principles of building construction to assess and plan space solutions within practical limitations. This includes building codes, Americans with Disabilities Act/Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility standards (ADA/ABAA), mechanical, and electrical systems, and security policies.
- Conduct space survey activities to support the development and sustainment of critical infrastructure and Capital Investment Plan (CIP) projects.
- Assist with systems furniture design and components, and coordinate installation and inspection techniques related to various manufacturers, including Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR); This can include creating drawings, specifications, and technical evaluation plans.
- Provide support for development of space requirements, workstation requirements, space characteristics, furniture selection, and construction from both a functional (acoustics, power and lighting, communications (e.g., voice, data)) and aesthetic (e.g., color, materials) approach.
- Update building record drawings to incorporate changes resulting from construction. This will include mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, and similar elements.
- Update building record drawings to incorporate changes resulting from furniture and architectural modifications.
- Provide technical expertise for the creation and maintenance of engineering baselines, redlines, and as-built drawing packages.
- Develop and maintain an inventory list of furniture as allocated to each project and for use in replenishing failed items.
- Perform site inspections and provide a preliminary site inspection report/punch list that captures relevant site conditions for issue resolution and disposition.
- Provide a final site inspection report/punch list that captures all outstanding issue resolutions in preparation for final occupancy.
- Provide quarterly, or when directed by the GTI, building space surveys for MMAC facilities and prepare a discrepancy report for use in updating master space design drawings in support of future engineering designs.
- Assist in the preparation of specifications necessary for project requirements of space design furniture.
- Prepare presentation reports and briefing materials for use in communicating space design activities to both internal and external organizations at the MMAC.
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in interior design, Interior Architecture or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience creating material boards.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Archibus, or architectural design software.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
