Job Role: Assistant Lead Pastor
Accountable to: The Lead Pastor-in-Charge
Location: Charlton, London, UK

Job description:
• Directly assist the Minister-in-Charge in the overall administration of the church and other specific assignments as directed by the Lead Pastor-in-Charge.
• Work with other ministers to drive the growth and expansion of the Church’s activities through the development and implementation of new strategies for membership drive.
• Teach the word of God in church services as scheduled in accordance to the biblical beliefs and teachings of Holy Ghost Christian Centre.
• Prepare and deliver sermons and other knowledge sharing sessions during church services.
• Organise in house Bible training programmes, retreats and other Christian education events to improve the knowledge of the scripture.
• Organise Bible training Classes and set up members for public conventions and conferences to spread the Christian faith/message.
• Organise and administer Holy Communion, conduct baptism classes and carry out baptism for qualified members.
• Officiate at marriage blessing ceremonies, funeral, baby christenings, baby dedications, and other special services.
• Contribute to the growth and wellbeing of church members through family enhancement seminars, family financial management seminars and other family development activities.
• Provide daily Christian advice, general counselling, and prayers for members of the church and community.
• Hold regular meetings with the board of trustees of the church and report all the day to day activities related with the management of the church to the Pastor in charge.
• Support all church projects and work along the vision of the church to establish and grow more branches of the church within the UK and other parts of the world.
• Support all church projects and fulfil other purposes which are exclusively charitable and connected with the charitable work of the Church according to the laws of England and Wales.

Person Specification:

Essential:
•Applicant must be an ordained, experienced and practising Christian evangelical/Pentecostal minister with relevant background and expertise in church development and management.
•Minimum of 5 years in church management and/or outreach experience with any recognised Pentecostal mission or Christian charitable organization.
•Must Have good motivational and mentoring skills and willingness to work as part of a team
•Must Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, report writing skills, high energy and a positive attitude.
•Minimum educational requirement of a degree level in any social-sciences or management.

Desirable:
•Knowledge and ability to communicate in one local Nigerian language is also desirable.
•Familiarity with programme cycle management approaches and tools – including participatory planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation.

Working Hours: Full time (37h/w). Flexible 5 days, which will always include Sundays, evenings and weekends.

Your new company
Your new company is a public sector organisation that is committed to serving the community and improving the lives of people in the region. You will be joining their Administration team to support them during a busy period. The position is on a temporary basis, for a length of assignment of at least 6 months.
Your new role
Your new role will see you responsible for managing the costing and invoicing of orders, maintaining databases for training records, inputting data and orders information. You will also be operating the switchboard/reception, typing and performing general administration duties such as printing, scanning and filing. The candidate should calculate time sheets for payment of wages and bonus and maintain all holiday and sickness registers. Additionally, they should assist other departments by collecting information and preparing valuations, and support the manager. You will manage the cost, process invoices and reconcile payments within agreed targets.
