Job Description
As an International Tax Specialist, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Tax to manage and oversee international tax matters, ensuring compliance and optimization across various jurisdictions. Your responsibilities will include evaluating, implementing, and reporting on global tax strategies and initiatives. Additionally, you will provide specialized tax support for the Africa region, ensuring adherence to local regulations and facilitating strategic tax planning for M&A activities. Automation and optimization of tax processes will be a key focus area, alongside proactive monitoring of changes in tax legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage group tax provisions and Effective Tax Rate (ETR), with a keen eye on tax accounting principles and compliance with IFRS.
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategy policies and control procedures across the organization.
- Conduct Country-by-Country monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with international tax regulations.
- Lead the automation of various tax processes within the organization to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and reporting of BEPS Pillar 2 initiatives, including technological integration.
- Oversee tax matters within the Africa region, including reviewing tax positions, managing audits, and providing tax support for M&A projects.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and proactively implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance and optimization.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or business related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in corporate tax and/or tax accounting areas.
- Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and financial data.
- Highly self-motivated, curious, organized, and meticulous in approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and under time pressure, delivering high-quality results.
- Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines while handling diverse issues in a complex environment.
