Compliance Risk Management (“CRM”) Overview
CRM performs work on a variety of regulatory compliance related matters. The CRM team is an oversight control function within BX Central Legal & Compliance designed to assess the effectiveness of BX’ policies and procedures, particularly with respect to regulatory compliance of the BX registered investment advisers and the BX managed investment funds.
CRM’s three primary areas of responsibility include:
Compliance Testing – Risk-based assessment and testing across the 40+ BX registered investment advisers and 300+ BX managed private and public investment funds Regulatory Exam Oversight – Advisory oversight and preparation for regulatory exams in partnership across broad range of cross functional teams Projects – Assessments of risks and controls related to firmwide regulatory compliance matters
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead operational activities, delivering quality service to internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legal regulations, and ensuring the success of the CRM team’s mandate. This role includes the effective management and oversight of CRM’s three primary areas of responsibility including CRM related operations (e.g., vendor relationships, achievement of team goals, etc.).
Role offers an opportunity to significant exposure across the Blackstone platform with consistent interaction with professionals across levels, including senior level professionals across key functions. We seek an experienced leader with a strong audit and operations background, project management expertise, and ideally an understanding of the alternative asset management landscape to enhance our operational performance and alignment with team strategic goals.
The CRM Senior Vice President will have the opportunity to participate in various concurrent projects and assignments across the CRM areas of responsibility, including but not limited to the following:
Assist the Head of CRM Team in overseeing the team's day-to-day operations.
Develop, implement, and manage operational goals and monitor achievement of CRM team performance and growth strategies.
Manage and establish guidelines for project management and execution to ensure the timely completion of CRM team goals.
Oversee the management of vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and quality of service.
Create accountability and lead by a strong, performance-oriented culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and productivity across the organization.
Advise on best practices including ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Recommend technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables.
Establish relationships with business and enterprise professionals at all levels.
Manage performance of staff and assist in talent development.
Qualifications

10+ years of experience including complex project management and auditing experience
Significant experience leading a team and independently driving initiatives

Ability to think critically and strategically to develop innovative recommendations to mitigate risks and add value
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
A degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field
Alternative investments experience (preferred)
MBA, CPA and/or CFA (preferred but not required)

Expected annual base salary range:
$200,000 - $250,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
