Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

1. Receive laboratory specimens and reject those that are unsuitable for analysis.

2. Operate the Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as result query, order entry and result entry.

3. Perform waived tests and moderate complexity tests. Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols.

4. Alert appropriate laboratory personnel of critical values.

5. Report any adverse incidents to senior member of staff.

6. Prepare reagents and materials that require special handling to ensure reliability.

7. Receive and resolve queries from customers.

8. Undertake preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation. Notify appropriate laboratory personnel when laboratory instruments malfunction.

9. Notify appropriate laboratory personnel when test kits, reagents or other supplies should be re-ordered.

10. Perform shift duties as required.

11. Keep current with new instrumentation, techniques and procedures by attending/participating in appropriate workshops, seminars and in-service education classes.

12. Promptly carry out the instruction(s) of senior staff with regard to work procedures and duties.

13. Comply with good laboratory practice as set out by the Laboratory Accreditation Programme of the College of American Pathologists and Singapore regulatory agencies such as the Medical Audit & Accreditation Unit.

14. Comply with all requirement of the Laboratory Safety Manual.

15. Comply with DLM Workplace Etiquette in line with NUHS Core Values.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (20%)

1. Evaluate new laboratory test methodologies.

2. Demonstrate laboratory procedures to trainees and new staff.

3. Guide Laboratory Technicians, Clerical Staff and Health Attendants in their work when required.

4. Participate in routine laboratory administrative work such as filling, processing of deliveries orders and invoices.

5. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Role Mission

Directs scientific strategies and activities to support Diagnostics commercial success in the APAC region, as well as provide valuable feedback to new product development.

What your responsibilities will be

· Provides scientific, technical and medical expertise and guidance, in area(s) prioritizing immunohematology/blood typing and secondly transfusion medicine, blood banking, blood policies.

· Identify/source key resources needed to support medical affairs goals in the region - Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders.

· Partners closely with APAC commercial operations, Global and Customer Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Affairs to ensure focus/alignment of medical affairs activities and deliverables in APAC with the overall business strategy in region. This includes but not limited to support activities of existing product offerings and identification of new products and their respective development. Support development and implementation of scientific marketing and sales tools.

· Ensure Grifols scientific leadership through research, congress symposia, publications, educational activities, and strong collaborative relationships with key opinion and thought leaders.

· Monitor industry innovation to assess competitive activity and identify opportunities for future business development.

· Contribute to the management and/or review of Grifols-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies.

· Work with Clinical Affairs as needed to ensure proper and relevant analysis of trial data.

· Provides material review to ensure scientific soundness and compliance with applicable policies and regulations

· Monitor, analyses and interpret developments in government policy that have an impact on short- and long-term business, to enhance company’s leadership in industry related engagement with government ministries.

· Expertise in transfusion science/medicine and business acumen in the blood bank industry or donor screening industry. Position Purpose:

Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists (AMLT) are responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory which include phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry and clinical laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g. Prothrombin Time, glucose) and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis (e.g. Urine FEME, dipstick, pregnancy), haematology (e.g. full blood count, peripheral blood film, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prothrombin time), biochemistry (e.g. HbA1c, neonate bilirubin), microscopy examination (e.g. fungal smear, high vaginal swab) independently.
• Ensure specimen identification, processing and storage of test specimens are in consistent with good laboratory practices
• Perform and verify quality control for all analysers prior to patients sampling
• Use of Laboratory Information System (LIS) to perform functions such as result entry, result validation and tracking for outstanding tests
• Ensure all test results provided for clinicians are accurate and reliable
• Ensure analysers/equipment are functioning properly and are well maintained.
• Notify medical technologist/lab in charge when instrument malfunction and make arrangements with BME or instrument vendor to service the instrument

ROLE SUMMARY

• The clinician medical monitor may contribute towards providing medical and scientific expertise and oversight for Clinical Trials.

• The clinician medical monitor may be required to design a development strategy for multiple protocols designed to obtain worldwide approval for a compound or group of compounds.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable for safety across the study:

• Provide study team with medical advice for all medical issues during risk assessment and mitigation planning to enable quality, compliance and patient safety at the trial, site and patient level.
• Ensures development of and adherence to the Safety Surveillance Review Plan (SSRP). Consistent with the SSRP, performs and documents regular review of individual subject safety data, and performs review of cumulative safety data with the safety risk lead. As appropriate, the clinician medical monitor may delegate these responsibilities to the study clinician scientist identified in the SSRP. The specific components of safety data review are detailed in the appropriate SOPs and the “Safety Data Review Guide – for Clinicians.”
• Monitor study safety issues and provide input to serious adverse events (SAEs) reports. Provides appropriate medical context in terms of risk factors, medical history and other important medical factors required to put the SAE or AE into appropriate medical context.
• Participates in the Safety Review Team to evaluate medical benefits/risks to support targeted clinical indications.
• Reviews literature as needed to respond to safety questions or those posed by the Safety Review Team, Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) or other individuals or bodies involved with the study.
• Communicates safety information to sites across the study and provides responses to questions on safety.

Protocol design and strategy:

• Contributes towards the medical input during protocol development and updates to the clinical development plan.
• Work closely with other medical monitors to ensure that documents (protocol, Informed Consent Document [ICD], etc.) meet regulatory requirements and company policy and has been reviewed by IRB/IECs.
• Provides medical input into country feasibility.

Support study team

• With supervision of medical monitor (director/Sr director) provides clinical input to protocol/study team for monitoring guidelines, statistics analysis plans, ICDs, clinical review forms, data edit checks, data quality planning, as needed
• Contributes to contract research organization / vendor selection to ensure study is conducted consistent with protocol requirements, clinical plan expectations, and study timelines; this includes ensuring medical/technical requirements for data integrity are applied.
• Works with study team to ensure high quality of data e.g. appropriate patient population, adequacy of clinical assessments as study is ongoing.
• Contributes to medical review and interpretation of efficacy and safety data from clinical trials; this includes delivery of top-line report in collaboration with study statistician, and delivery of clinical study report in collaboration with medical writer and accountable for overall quality and timeliness of analysis and reporting.
• Provides protocol specific training to study team, investigators, clinical research associate, and others.
• Interacts with healthcare professionals at sites during the conduct of the study to enable quality, compliance and patient safety at the trial, site and patient level.
• Interacts with DMCs and steering committees as required.
• Notifies appropriate study team personnel of the need to inform investigators of any changes in research activity and any significant new adverse events.
• Monitor investigator compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Support study team in issues resolution, study closeout, audit responses, inspection readiness, etc.

• Supports the program team:
• Under supervision (director/Sr director) authors clinical sections of regulatory documents (Investigator Brochure, Annual Reports, Investigational New Drug sections, clinical study report).
• May co-author abstracts, posters, presentations and publications.
• May contribute budget execution of protocols.

Interact with regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, and principal investigators:

• May support Clinical Regulatory Authority interactions accountable for providing responses.
• Liaise with Key Opinion Leaders and Principal Investigators in countries to build a Key Opinion Leaders /Principal Investigators network for new trials.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed by a health authority to prescribe medicines (independent of supervision) for at least one year (post "intern/houseman" year) and has utilized the license to prescribe medicines in a patient care setting for an aggregate duration of at least one year.
• Possesses the ability to critically evaluate medical/scientific information.
• Excellent written an oral communication.
• Understands the design, development, and execution of clinical programs and studies.

What will you do

The Associate Director Head of Medical Affairs, Metro Asia is responsible for providing medical leadership for the Medical Affairs team with accountability for enabling the development and execution of medical strategy, policies and associated initiatives/ plans for the Metro Asia cluster. This role will have approx. 3-5 direct reports.

This individual will serve as the Medical Affairs lead for Metro Asia serving on the Metro Asia Leadership Team, Regional Medical & Clinical Sciences Leadership Team and relevant regional functional squads as required. As a member of the Regional Medical and Clinical Sciences leadership team, they will provide functional and organizational leadership on all Metro Asia specific topics ensuring support, commitment and visibility from Senior Stakeholders for optimal resource allocation, initiative prioritization and investment choices.

This leader will bring credible medical/scientific perspective on all business relevant issues while operating with an executional excellence mindset. This medical leader will work very closely with cross- functional cluster leads and cross-geographical partners including marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, legal, safety, quality and operations. He/She will provide strategic medical input into Metro Asia specific topics including the launch of new product/commercial innovation, life cycle management of current business and policy issues as needed. • Contribute to the development as appropriate.
• Meet with regulators and external agencies when requested to understand their needs and provide medical expertise in support of our products.
• Assess / predict changes in medical requirements and recognize the potential impact and implications.

KOL Development / Thought Leadership

• Oversee the development of professional advocacy programs by the Metro Asia MA team in conjunction with professional marketing.
• Support and enable the team in gaining opinion leader endorsement to support products and/or claims.
• Oversee coordination of symposia/ congress plans across the cluster.
• Publication planning.

Marketing/Brand team support

• Partner with commercial in adapting and activating cross-franchise claims, Science That Sells and communications.
• Oversee assessment of proposed Claims/Advertising for medical/clinical accuracy and balance in line with Metro Asia and country regulations.
• Manage development and maintenance of medical affairs support for claims/advertising.
• Identifies potential threats to claims and inputs into strategies to maintain/ defend claims in conjunction with global medical affairs.
• Provides scientific evidence to affiliates for defense of claims against competitive threat.
• Liaise with local commercial stakeholders to monitor competitor activities (new products, claims, pipeline developments, providing opinion) and assisting affiliates compile competitive challenges.

Training oversight

• Oversee the development of training courses & materials on clinical / medical / scientific aspects of new products or claims.

Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists (AMLT) are responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory which include phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry and clinical laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g. Prothrombin Time, glucose) and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis (e.g. Urine FEME, dipstick, pregnancy), haematology (e.g. full blood count, peripheral blood film, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prothrombin time), biochemistry (e.g. HbA1c, neonate bilirubin), microscopy examination (e.g. fungal smear, high vaginal swab) independently.
• Ensure specimen identification, processing and storage of test specimens are in consistent with good laboratory practices

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

1. Receive laboratory specimens and reject those that are unsuitable for analysis.

2. Operate the Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as result query, order entry and result entry.

3. Perform waived tests and moderate complexity tests. Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols.

4. Alert appropriate laboratory personnel of critical values.

5. Report any adverse incidents to senior member of staff.

6. Prepare reagents and materials that require special handling to ensure reliability.

7. Receive and resolve queries from customers.

8. Undertake preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation. Notify appropriate laboratory personnel when laboratory instruments malfunction.

9. Notify appropriate laboratory personnel when test kits, reagents or other supplies should be re-ordered.

11. Keep current with new instrumentation, techniques and procedures by attending/participating in appropriate workshops, seminars and in-service education classes.
