Roles & Responsibilities

•To Identify target markets and sales opportunities (Foreigners and expatriates residing locally)
•Develop relationships with targeted market segments (Foreigners and expatriates residing locally)
•Build and maintain targeted client bases, keeping current client plans up-to-date and acquiring new clients on an ongoing basis
•Maintain relationship with clients and prospective clients by contacting/meeting with them periodically
•Explaining/Giving advice to clients and prospective clients the types of services / investment products and the responsibilities to be taken by the Financial Services Consultant.
•Interview clients to determine their current income, expenses, insurance coverage, financial objectives, risk tolerance, and other information needed to develop a financial plan
•Research and investigate available insurance/investment products to determine whether they fit into financial plans of clients
•Recommend financial planning strategies to clients to achieve their financial goals and objectives
•Implement financial planning recommendations to clients or prospective clients
•Arranging contracts of insurance for clients with the company
•Collecting initial premium from clients for the company
•Maintain persistency of sales in in-force policies

Your new company

Due to growth in their UK subsidiary, they are looking to appoint a Financial Controller who will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all financial activities within their UK operations.

Your new role
As the Finance Controller for the UK, reporting into the UK MD, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic organisation.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the UK office, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the global finance team to streamline financial processes and best practices.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
• Lead financial planning and analysis efforts to support business strategy and decision-making.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.

What you'll need to succeed
I feel this role would suit either a part-qualified studier/finalist or a QBE Accountant with significant experience in a broad Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role looking to make the step-up into a senior role with the longer term opportunity to grow a finance team below. You must be highly independent, have strong analytical and problem solving skills, effective communication skills and be driven to make a positive impact. Strong IT proficiency is essential, ideally with experience in implementing systems/software's. Being fluent in French would be a bonus, but not essential.

What you'll get in return
On offer is a salary between £45,000-£55,000 per annum depending on experience plus an annual bonus and various benefits including study support (if required), 26 days annual leave plus bank holiday, various health insurance benefits including life assurance x4 the annual salary, 8% employer contribution and much more. Hybrid working is also on offer with 3 days WFH.
