The main function of this role is to implement and effectively manage the company's quality system providing a quality of product and service that satisfies our client's customer needs and expectations.

• Making sure the company is working as effectively as possible to be ahead of competitors by staying current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to quality management in the aluminium manufacturing sector

Qualifications, education and preferred skills:

• Quality assurance: 1 year (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Proven track record of implementing and managing quality control systems in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or similar professional certification preferred. ISO 9001, BRC (GS) experience preferred
• Experience with 5S methodologies and process improvement tools
• Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft office suite
• Kaizen / Total Quality Management or relevant quality qualifications / experience

THE ROLE

The Clinical Trials Quality Manager is a leadership role providing clinical trial regulation expertise to ensure a continued focus on quality and compliance. The role is responsible for our quality management system, and coordination and tracking of staff training. It has 2 direct reports and 6 indirect reports:

• Quality Management System: Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) program to ensure consistency of practice to the highest quality standards across clinical trials, and to ensure compliance with ICH GCP, regulatory requirements, Ethics committees and Macquarie University (MQ) policies and procedures.

• Process Improvement: Drive system and process reviews and improvement initiatives to optimise trial quality and compliance.

• Audit and Inspection Management: Oversee preparation for audits and inspections, and responses to audits and inspections to ensure appropriate follow up of any findings including sharing learning across relevant staff in the CTU.

• Staff training: Oversee comprehensive training needs assessments and implementation and tracking of training programs meeting personal development requirements, as well as tracking and overseeing routine repeat trainings (ICH-GCP, Basic Life Support and safe laboratory sample handling and shipping etc).

• Workforce development: Oversee the clinical trial trainee program ensuring a pipeline of trained staff for entry level positions in the CTU.

• Leadership: contribute to strategic planning, team culture and CTU leadership and drive a continuous improvement culture and quality mindset in the CTU.

You will have extensive experience working on sponsored clinical trials ideally in a quality role. You will have experience managing, training and mentoring. You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems. You will have the ability to lead and deliver on projects involving risk management and process improvement in a clinical trial setting.  You will be passionate about working in clinical trials.

The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) at Macquarie University. FMHHS also has the Macquarie Medical School, the Macquarie University Private Hospital, and runs patient clinics, labs, imaging and a pharmacy all on campus in close proximity to support clinical trials, and support providing patients with access to state of the art treatments. The CTU undertakes sponsored and investigator initiated Phase I to IV trials across multiple therapeutic areas with multiple Principal Investigators. JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

The primary objectives of the Quality Assurance Supervisor are to develop, facilitate, implement, and maintain the effectiveness of the quality systems for pilot plant operations in the Asia region, including the Process Research Lab (PRL). Provide Quality Assurance input to engineering projects, best practice initiatives, and validation protocol development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system and for providing Quality Assurance design review support to product development projects.
• Develop systems to track, trend, report and reduce nonconforming situations.
• Support the resolution and approvals of exception reports and manage the identified corrective and preventive action plans for all nonconformities.
• In conjunction with the regional Compliance Manager, develop and maintain the annual internal audit program schedule. Coordinate and perform Internal and GMP audits as per schedule.
• Audit validation packages, maintenance work orders and other related documents that may be subject to Corporate or Regulatory audits.
• Manage the documentation system and requirements for assigned operations. Ensure all QA documents meet established divisional, corporate and regulatory requirements, and are current and up to date.
• Identifies any gaps in the documentation system and take necessary actions to correct and improve. Develop and improve on the documentation routing process to assure timely implementation or requested changes.
• Manage the Quality Management Review process for the assigned operations group, and follow up on all items assigned during Management Review meetings as well as special projects as assigned.
• Be the main point of contact with groups outside of R&D, such as Medical, Regulatory, etc.
• Understand and apply industry regulations knowledge with an understanding of the business operation to achieve regulatory compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical Field such as Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology or Microbiology or equivalent experience

Experience/Background

• Possess a thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance and Manufacturing processes (production, logistics, engineering and performance metrics).
• Possess technical understanding of different technologies, manufacturing quality systems and Clinical Operations and is able to provide consultation and recommendations to help improve compliance. Prior experience in pilot plant operations would be highly desirable.
• Have experience in documentation review, for documentation control and for batch release purposes.
• Have experience in performing/leading audits and working independently through troubleshooting issues.
• Ability to successfully interact and communicate with all organizational levels internally and externally.

Quality Assurance Manager

Location: York (hybrid working options available)

Salary: £57K per annum

Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)

We are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our client, an established environmental services agency striving to improve food and crop security globally.

The purpose of this role is to ensure GLP requirements are being met, providing advice, guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders on the requirements of quality and operating standards. You will be accountable for ensuring these requirements are implemented, monitored and expanded in line with business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the GLP QA function to ensure regulatory auditing is scheduled and maintained, some auditing will be required
• Working with the Test Facility Management Team to ensure regulatory requirements are met and new requirements are implemented
• Offer advice and guidance on the requirements of GLP compliance
• Produce and deliver GLP training
• Liaise with assessing bodies and customers
• Management of all team members, being the first point of contact for any issues they may have and supporting them in finding solutions, including proactive identification of performance issues, providing feedback and coaching
• Effective management of staff resource through line management and liaising with resource planners
• Support and encourage innovation to improve current service delivery, driving improvements and development of the service provided.
• Ensure all team members are trained in and adhere to the relevant H&S and quality standard requirements

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

• Extensive experience working in GLP Quality Assurance / GxP environment
• Experience in scheduling audits and managing audit schedules
• Experience in instrumental system validations for the generation of electronic data
• Production and delivery of training material relevant to GLP regulations and requirements
• Experience of hosting inspection visits by regulatory bodies and/or customers
• People and resource management skills
