Working closely with the Management and Financial Accountant, you will be tasked with ensuring the accounts are up to date and month-end is completed accurately and on time.
The main responsibilities will revolve around accounting for all revenue transactions, debtor adjustments, bad debt adjustments, selected acquisition transactions, and ad hoc other accounting transactions.
We are seeking an engaging, organised and analytical individual with advanced written and verbal communication skills who can:
- Account for all revenue and all debtors adjustments
- Calculate, communicate and account for monthly bad debt provisions per the company policy and check with relevant stakeholders on the variance between actual to forecast and actual to budget.
- Compile reports to various stakeholders on the bad debt movement and balances
- Calculate Revenue streams for jobbing revenue used in Monthly Performance Reviews
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting tasks such as electricity and marketing accruals
- Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts and income statements
- Comply with allocated SOX controls and also internal KFC (Key Financial Controls) and where needed assist with supplying information to Internal and External auditors.
To be successful in this role, you will require a highly collaborative approach with a detailed understanding of accounting and attention to detail.
The successful applicant will be Degree qualified in Bachelor of Accounting (Major in accounting) or commerce, or similar qualification with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Accounting & finance.
In addition you will need to have:
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and, knowledge of financial and accounting systems
- Experience in dealing with large volumes and strict deadlines
- Advance level of experience in MS Excel and any experience in BI reporting tools a benefit
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- A high level of intelligence and creativity in problem-solving
- Strong organisational skills and is deadline oriented
