We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in providing Person centred care support with Learning Disabilities and Autism in the Harkstead area. The individuals enjoy a variety of activities such as sports, films, music, and community outings. As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for this individual, ensuring their needs are met and supporting them in various daily activities.

You will be working with 5 Adults in a residential home, assisting them with various needs. Assist with some personal care, help them cook, clean their home, ensure they take their medication, listen to music, play computer games and sharing the resident’s interests. Our Residents love doing activities in the community and in their own home.

For this position you will ideally be a car driver with some care or support worker experience, but if you don’t have any experience, our client offers full, extensive training.

About the role
Reporting to the Senior Advisory Teacher, you will draw on your strong knowledge of safeguarding in schools and education interventions to enable the attainment gap for vulnerable learners to be narrowed. This will also ensure that strengthened partnership working between key partners and schools secures better planning for vulnerable pupils. You will apply your proven experience of working alongside schools in raising attainment for children with a Social Worker, including those with special educational needs.

As a dynamic professional with excellent knowledge of safeguarding in schools, you will navigate the multi-professional network to overcome barriers to learning and progress. You will challenge professionally across the network where pupils are at risk of under-achievement or insufficient access to appropriate education opportunities.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• You will have Qualified Teacher Status and be educated to degree level 2:2 or above.

Job Descriptions:
Admissions and Transitions

• To provide all the necessary administrative and statistical duties related to all admissions matters from application to the students are admitted to the school
• To schedule all the relevant interviews with parents
• To collate all relevant reports and send it to the relevant parties
• To collate and liaise with all relevant organisations such as SGEnable, SPED Schools, other VWOs, MOE AND MSF with regards to admissions and transitions
• To maintain admissions data in the Centre’s Student and Client Management System

Means-testing Duties for Voluntary Welfare Organisation Transport Services (VWOTS)/ School Based Financial Schemes for clients

• To administrate the ETS means-testing scheme
• To upkeep all the necessary administrative and statistical duties related to this scheme
• To maintain and upkeep all the necessary data and record- keeping for this scheme for the purpose of submission to the relevant authorities such as SGEnable, NCSS and MSF as required.
• To take on the liaison role in communicating with all parents and the Centre’s appointed bus vendor with regards to the scheme

Administration and Programme Development

• To continuously improve on the existing administration structure of the department
• To take minutes at all relevant meetings
• Handle all phone calls and emails enquiries
• Handles yearly audit enquiries
• Monitors budget spending

Social Work;

• Carry out Case Management
• Conduct Home Visit

Job Requirements:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in social work / Graduate Diploma in Social Work, preferably with 2 – 4 years of relevant experience
