• Organize and conduct regular separate and/or combined meetings with Clients, Asset Owners, appointed consultant, contractors, vendors, etc to address all technical related matters during pre-project and during engineering project execution

• Technical Solutions management and track progress of solutions development and project cost against the approved schedule during pre-project investment approval and design phases

• Technical solutions report including solution development and its corresponding risks and mitigation, compliance to the Customer and/or industry standards, project cost estimation and its corresponding validation and risks, etc. for investment approval.

• Technical solutions and Pre-Sales support to project team during project execution.

• Work closely with Client, Asset Owner and Operation team on any technical issues arising from pre-project stage, project execution stage and support the project team for timely handover to Client, Asset Owner and Operation team respectively.

Independently leading the preparation of all complex PLS-CADD models on HV Line projects. This includes; the preparation of PLS-CADD line model of complex line design of LV to HV comprising of structural M4 models, carrying out all checks associated with clearances in PLS-CADD and accurately estimating the load for overhead structures using relevant codes of practice.

Leading the production of high quality reporting and documentation including but not limited to Route selection & clearance requirements, Tower Modelling using PLS-TOWER, Line profile drawings , Creep and sag/tension calculations, Conductor & insulator selection and capital cost estimates.

Understanding the technical risks and challenges of stringing and maintenance (constructibility, maintainability and operability risks) and addressing these in the designs.

Independently carry out design checks/ reviews/ technical assurance on assigned Projects, and manage time and cost assigned on individual tasks associated with project delivery.

Assisting team leaders/ section leaders to actively contribute in proposal estimation of effort required for modelling and design.
About You

Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, and registered as a Chartered Engineer or Chartership in progress
10 or more years of experience within a similar role and field
Sound working knowledge of key areas in Transmission Line design and HV/EHV Substation design
Ability to work both independently and in larger project teams, including virtual teaming with overseas offices
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness and ability to work as part of a multi discipline team

• Plan and control the delivery of project design to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and project objectives.
• Select and engage, then monitor the performance of external design partners within the discipline including their deliverables, cost and timeframes.
• Manage the design approval process in accordance with project requirements and program
• Prepare budgets and schedules of design delivery for management approval then manage and report the cost of design delivery in the project life cycle.
• Manage design to ensure the cost of the works meets project requirements.
• Manage and review milestone deliverables from the Design Consultants to ensure the compliance and adherence to project schedule, scope and Design Brief, Stakeholders’ requirements and comments, statutory codes and regulations, and company guidelines.
• Obtain, review and consolidate Stakeholders’ feedbacks on stage deliverables, and relay such feedbacks as directives to Consultants.
• Manage client and stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively with the project team.
• Supervise the work of subordinate design and drafting staff to ensure project requirements are met.
• Select and develop design management staff within the project by providing leadership and mentoring to ensure their design management competencies.
• Understand design compliance and reporting procedures and processes and leadership in the communication of requirements.
• Foster the interaction between design and construction teams to maximise innovation and project success.

Job Requirement:

• Recognised Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in the construction industry with 8 years of experience in the design of civil and structures of building related projects
• Experience in LTA and SMRT project will be advantage.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
• Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, and able to foster collaboration
• Able to work well independently and as a team
