About the Corporate Communications Team:
The Corporate Communications team sits within Enterprise Services and Public Affairs, which covers a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from support for the CEO’s public engagements to quarterly earnings, sponsorship and corporate social responsibility. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media and other external stakeholders and drive internal communications for a global workforce of more than 200,000 colleagues. Within Citi, the team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the Enterprise Services Public Affairs team across the world.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities
This role will be a key member of the Corporate Communications team and will help manage high visibility work that supports partners across the organization, including the c-suite. The DE&I and ESG Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping executive communications, while also building and executing multi-faceted campaigns across the branding, sponsorship and consumer spaces. Among the responsibilities:
- Help develop and support c-suite communications and strategy as the firm embarks on a transformation effort
- Grow our Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Officer and Global Head of Talent’s executive communications and thought leadership platform through traditional media outreach, speaking engagements and social media support
- Support strategy and execute integrated, external communications in support of programs and initiatives related to ESG, DE&I, corporate responsibility, innovation, and community development
- Lead communications support for our global inclusion networks
- Partner internally with ESG and DE&I business leads to elevate and highlight interesting stories and insights using social media and other engaging channels
- Assist in issues management and crisis communications on issues with potential reputational impact
- Support members of the Corporate Communications team in preparing briefing and research material for senior executives
- Develop a range of communication materials including press releases, media statements and social media posts, and work with stakeholders internally and externally to develop and approve content
- Develop creative stories for trade and industry publications and drive executive visibility
- Own and manage relationships with the media and relevant thought leaders, and cultivate partnerships with industry players
- Monitor media trends and social media dialogue, analyze and make recommendations for action
- Use quantitative/qualitative insights to drive decisions, measure success and encourage positive change within the organization
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
- 5+ years’ relevant work experience, within a global company or agency highly preferred
- Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience working in a role with a robust digital or social media component
- Experience managing c-suite executive(s) communications strategy
- Confidence interacting with members of the news media
- Ability to work well under pressure with a strong record of sound decision making during time of crisis
- Takes initiative, anticipates next steps and sets high standards in all he/she does
- Team player with the confidence to take the lead when necessary while remaining flexible to support team members as needed
- Bold, creative, thoughtful approach to work product and regularly brings forward new ideas
- Persuasive when presenting to larger groups or in regular meetings, both internally and externally
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Integrity, maturity, dependability, and a positive professional attitude
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Superior writing skills
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite a plus
