Fabrica AI Electrical Engineer Intern - Invention of Automatic Tile Grouting Robots

Fabrica AI is creating a future where ideating and developing a robot for any task takes days, not years. We believe that by training end to end controls in simulation with reinforcement learning and above that iterating hardware designs, we can automate the whole development process. At the current stage, the most important resource is a large fleet of robots to validate our approaches for our AI system and to collect data. This would help keep us grounded in reality.

To start building up the fleet, we invented an automatic tile grouting robot that boosts productivity by 5x and are piloting it on construction sites in Singapore managed by Woh Hup, BHCC, Gin Chia, Soilbuild, and Dragages. This should correspond to about 30% of the Singaporean market. We have early leads in the US and Europe as well. Tile grouting is the process of filling up the gaps between tiles after the tiles have been laid. Grouting is part of virtually every construction project and a highly laborious process, is considered one of the most physically damaging tasks resulting in tilers’ knees and back issues, and thus quality issues would also arise. We invented a patent pending robot that is able to automatically grout and clean tile gaps with only a press of a button. The operators would only need to reload grout and water.

We have also pitched at the Built Environment Demo Day 2022 organised by BCA as part of the International Built Environment Week (IBEW) and won the Rising Star Award. IBEW has drawn more than 10,000 individuals from over 100 countries.

What you’ll need to do the role:As this is an Internal Communication Specialist role, previous and proven experience of implementing corporate internal communications is essential. You will have experience using internal social media, creating digital content (including videos) and event co-ordination with excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to co-ordinate the production of communication content and materials with internal stakeholders and external partners, whilst prioritising simultaneous projects and deadlines. You will also have proven experience of successfully managing and implementing key projects from start to finish.
- Experience using various MS tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Ability to work at professional level with direction and technical supervision from more experienced communications professionals.

The Internal Communications Coordinator for Equifax Workforce Solutions (EWS) plays a key role in supporting the Strategic Communications function for the largest and fastest-growing business unit within Equifax. Your primary functions will include three key areas: 1. managing content; 2. developing/ writing content; and 3. supporting program operations. While your key responsibilities will be in Internal Communications, you will also gain valuable experience in External Communications. What you’ll do

• Draft and develop internal communications including announcements, news articles and leader messages. 

• Review draft communications from internal stakeholders and edit for grammar, style, clarity and length.

• Format, proofread and coordinate distribution of internal communications.

• Develop content for digital workplace displays and ensure they are used and updated in accordance with business guidelines.

• Support the development and implementation of annual employee campaigns.

• Conduct research in support of internal communications programs.

What experience you need  

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field

• 2+ year’s experience managing multiple projects while delivering high-quality results
