An exciting opportunity is available for both Trainee and qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join our multi-disciplinary team at Wythenshawe Hospital Emergency Department, part of the Emergency Care Village Division.

Qualified practitioners will be an advanced level independent practitioner and work autonomously, using expert advanced clinical skills to diagnose, treat and discharge patients under the care of the Emergency Department.

Trainee practitioners will be supported with fully funded training to obtain your MSc in Advanced Practice. We are keen to appoint a trainee advanced practitioner with previous Emergency Department experience and clinical skills wishing to progress their career in Emergency Care.

The successful candidate will be provided with a robust induction and personal development plan to meet their professional development needs whilst working closely with the Consultant Nurse and Consultant Body.

The successful candidate will be based in the state of the art Emergency Department at Wythenshawe Hospital working between Majors, Resus, Urgent Treatment Centre for both Minor Illness and Injury, and the Children’s Emergency Unit with its own Resus room and observation area.

Advanced Clinical Practitioners will be given an educational and clinical Consultant supervisor who with the Consultant Nurse will provide guidance and feedback on a monthly basis whilst developing your portfolio, working towards credentialing and enhancing your clinical skills providing safe and appropriate patient care.

This role will be pivotal in providing clinical expertise in the delivery of the future models of care for greater Manchester.

For Trainee candidates, on completion of the ACP training, the post will progress from Band 7 to Band 8a.

We are excited to recruit a Trainee ACP to our growing team and are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals for trainee ACP posts within the Emergency Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary. You will be expected to complete the RCEM adult competencies and subsequent credentialing process. Trainees will be expected to achieve competency in all areas of the adult ED (Fast Flow, Majors, Resuscitation, SDEC) and will complete the academic and practical aspects of ACP training, including a funded part-time MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and workplace-based assessments following the Royal College of Emergency Medicine 2022 ACP curriculum. After successful completion of the three-year MSc and successful RCEM credentialing trainees will be become a substantive band 8a.Educational opportunities will include a bespoke individualised learning portfolio that will be adapted to meet specific learning requirements, ensuring development of competencies required for the role fulfilling the full RCEM curriculum. Clinical supervision will be supported by an allocated consultant Educational Supervisor, an ACP Clinical Supervisor and the Lead ACP.

All trainee ACPs will work and 80:20 split between clinical and non-clinical time as well as regular educational teaching and placements across acute medicine, ITU, surgery and anaesthetics. There are regular ACP and MDT teaching activities within the ED which trainees attend.
