JOB SUMMARY

Rice Lake is a Level IV trauma center, rural setting, 14,000 annual volume with 24/7 physician coverage . Shifts will be 8 hours or 12 hours.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Medical Assistant Certified is a multi-skilled clinical professional that provides indirect and/or direct patient care within the scope of practice and in alignment with the standards of excellence and quality. Job Description:

This Advanced Practice Provider (APP; nurse practitioner and/or physician assistant) will be a vital member of the Intermountain Comprehensive Spine Clinic team at Intermountain Medical Center, a level I Trauma Center in Murray, Utah. The APP assists surgeons in the care of patients in clinic and hospitalized patients with a variety of cranio-cervical to pelvis pathologies/deformities. This includes but is not limited to fractures of the spine, spinal cord injuries, spinal stenosis, epidural infections.

After being oriented to all aspects of ortho-spine, the APP provides care in inpatient, outpatient, surgical and trauma settings. The APP's primary responsibility will be assisting in the operating room and evaluating patients in the outpatient clinic space. This will also include bedside care of ortho-spine patients, first assist with emergent surgeries, and be a resource to hospital nursing and ancillary staff. In addition, this APP may answer call pages that come through from the floor, ER and the answering service.

This is a full-time, fully benefits eligible position. The hired provider can expect to work 40 hours per week, with flexibility based on surgical and clinical demand. Additionally, three separate call days per month (plus next day for add-on cases) and weekend coverage as needed.

Job Description:

Intermountain Medical Center Trauma Services encompasses a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering the highest quality of care to over 3,000 trauma patients per year. As part of the team, you will support and be supported by advanced practice providers (APPs), trauma surgeons, nurses, physicians, and support staff.

This Trauma Services APP will provide care to patients from admission to discharge. This includes responsibilities in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care and other inpatient units, and follow-up care in our trauma clinic. You will participate in procedures, patient resuscitation, research and performance improvement, may first assist during trauma surgeries, among many other opportunities throughout the Level I Trauma Center.

Trauma Services provides 24/7 coverage, 365 days per year. This means your schedule will vary depending on department needs. A mixture of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts are to be expected, typically 8-12 hours in length. However, no call is anticipated.


To be successful in this position, we highly prefer an APP with a background in critical or emergency medicine.

Seeking a highly skilled, experienced APP to join our growing cardiothoracic critical care team. This is a 24/7 service therefore this position requires days, nights, weekends and holidays in a rotation with the team.

In this position you will be responsible for examining, diagnosing and treating patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, and thoracic diseases under the direction of the attending physician. Our APPs play an integral role in the multidisciplinary care team by coordinating discussion, communication, and implementation of care plans with various consulting physician services, nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, nutritional support, and other ancillary teams. In addition to these skills, you will be expected to have obtained competency in common ICU procedures, including but not limited to endotracheal intubation, arterial blood gas collection, arterial catheter line placement, central venous catheter line placement, temporary dialysis catheter line placement, transvenous pacemaker line placement, and pulmonary artery catheter line placement. 

Our cardiothoracic critical care providers are also the rapid response team for the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab.

Our APPs are expected to manage endotracheal tubes, tracheostomy tubes, ventilators, pacemakers, sedation (MAC and Deep), interpret ABGs and VBGs as well as complex acid/base derangements, manage fluid balance goals with diuretics, hemodialysis, and CRRT, vasopressors and inotropes, XRAYS, and laboratory investigations.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Are you looking for a career in academia that matches your priorities?  The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University (ISU) has the job for you!  Located in Ames, Iowa, ISU invites applications for a full time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in the Radiology section of the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC).   The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank.

The successful applicant may anticipate crafting a unique, flexible and tailored position that matches their priorities to optimize their interests in professional practice, clinical and/or didactic instruction and collaborative scholarship. You will also have the opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary interns, residents and students, as well as work alongside colleagues to provide the highest standard of veterinary care. The successful candidate will promote efficient delivery of multiple diagnostic imaging modalities in collaboration with the clinical services within the LVMC. Required Minimum Qualifications:

· DVM or equivalent degree

· Successful completion or active enrollment in an approved residency training program by the American College of    Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) and eligibility to participate in the Board Examination process 

· State of Iowa Veterinary License on or before the first day of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Board Certified by ACVR or ECVDI

· Experience in both small and large animal radiology/diagnostic imaging

Department/Program & College Description:

The successful candidate will join the LVMC clinical radiology/diagnostic imaging service which currently includes one tenured ACVR faculty, one clinical track ACVR faculty, and seven radiology support staff.

Our small digital radiography rooms include Summit InnoVet tables and generators with a Canon workstation and Canon 14x17 True DR c-series imaging detectors, in addition to a Shimadzu MobileDaRt Evolution (Mx8 Version) Portable unit.  A Canon 32 Multidetector Aquilian Large Bore computed tomography system includes a duel Stellent Flex Bayer Power injector.  A GE 1.5. Tesla Signa magnet with Explorer 25.1 Software and RF Coils provide MRI studies.  Nuclear medicine utilizes a custom design Enhanced Technologies Gamma Camera with Oasis Acquisition and processing software.  

Our large animal digital radiography includes a Shimadzu RADspeed Pro Overhead generator with Canon Workstation including Canon 17x17 and 11x14 True DR cseries imaging detectors and MinRay Apporatus TR90B hand held generator with Sound NEXT DR for distal extremities, with 10x12 and 14x17 Varian imaging detectors.  The PACS system is provided by Fuji Synapse 5.   Two Philips EPIQ 7 ultrasound units are in use in the ISU Diagnostic Imaging service.

The LVMC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion and large animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our clinicians, residents, interns, technicians, staff, and senior veterinary students work collaboratively to provide 24-hour, high-quality care to animal patients.

JOB SUMMARY

The Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients in collaboration of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

In this role, you will join a team that has 24/7 physician coverage at a level III trauma center. Shifts are either 0800-2000 or 1000-2200.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program.

EXPERIENCE
