Duties: Develop credit risk models (scorecards) applying statistical analysis, credit life cycle principles, predictive modeling, machine learning and Big Data and using programming languages such as SAS, Python and SQL for international and U.S. business risk management. Develop, enhance, and validate methods of measuring and analyzing risk and risk types including market, credit and operational. Develop, validate and strategize uses of scoring models and scoring model related policies. Use Python, R, SAS, VBA, SQL, Microsoft Office, IBM-Answertree, SPSS-Clementine, and Angoss Knowledge Studio to develop models, conduct statistical analyses, merge, transform, and create datasets. Design, automate, and adapt proprietary modules used for score development. Implement proprietary models for use in live operating environments using open source programming languages. Translate operational requests from business into programming and data criteria. Conduct systems and operational research to increase model expected results. Conduct analysis and create technical documentation report for validation purposes sufficient to meet regulatory guidelines and industry standards. Assess and quantify model risk due to model limitations to inform stakeholders of their risk profile and development of compensating controls. Use machine learning for predictive modeling. Develop and manage predictive models using machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistical methods on both conventional data sources (credit bureau, internal credit information) and alternative data (digital footprint and from other industries, such as e-commerce, e-wallet, telecommunications, utility). Identify modeling opportunities that yield measurable business results. Represent bank in interactions with regulatory agencies. Present model validation findings to senior management and supervisory authorities. Assesses and quantify model risk due to model limitations to inform stakeholders of their risk profile and development of compensating controls. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent), in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field and 3 years of experience as a Senior Specialist, Credit Risk Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst or related position involving credit risk analysis for the financial services industry. Manage reporting including but not limited to- portfolio concentrations, limit exceptions, stress testing, loss reserves or high-risk exposures. Work with key partners to support and advance projects being developed. Provide risk strategic analytics and information management across Citibank products. Facilitate data-quality and controls for other teams and managers. Provide regulatory risk project management support (business requirements, analysis and testing) for delivery of regulatory solutions. Perform data analysis to monitor and track data quality and completeness of data. Provide Project Management of various deliverables for Portfolio Risk Review chapter. Involved in rationalization of EUCs (End User Computing) used for Portfolio Risk Reviews. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policy.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, as a Financial Risk Specialist, or in a related occupation. Five (5) years of experience must include: Working with risk management with special focus on statistical models and methodologies used for loss forecasting to drive analytics related to forecast components including P&L and balance sheet and enhancing understanding of risk drivers to inform decision-making; Preparing regulatory and senior management reports that support effective review and challenge of Global CCAR 14A Stress testing methodology and CECL framework; Performing deep dive data analyses on large complex datasets to understand key drivers of risk and highlight trends; Using statistical and business intelligence tools including R, Tableau, Datameer, Arcadia, SQL, and Python to aggregate and visualize data; Validating and driving consensus on data definitions, mapping, and data rules to ensure a high standard of data quality and compliance with regulatory and audit data requirements; and Evaluating project delivery process, including managing risks by highlighting critical dependencies, providing oversight for appropriate controls implementation, and ensuring issues are resolved. Overview
The Finance Chief Risk Officer organization provides risk management oversight of the Global Finance function, including effective risk challenge and mitigation of risk for capital, liquidity, interest rate risk and Treasury investments, and ensures compliance with all risk-related regulatory requirements. In addition, the team oversees the key risk management methodologies and calculations, including CECL and IFRS9 for credit reserves, and Basel Advanced RWA.
The Non-Trading Market Risk Management team is a newly formed group as part of the Finance CRO organization, is responsible for independent risk management of non-trading market risk, including interest rate risk in the banking book as well as market risk management of Treasury Investments. It identifies, measures, and monitors non-trading market risks and it provides independent review and challenge to the first-line activities.
