The Head of Group Reporting is a member of the External Reporting management team within the Finance department of ING Wholesale Banking Asia. You are manager of the Group Financial Reporting team based in Singapore and you are the regional lead providing advice and support towards the Heads of Finance in the other branches in the region and the Finance Staff working in the regional shared service centre in Manila (~ 20 FTE); to ensure that we deliver consistent and aligned reporting throughout the region.

Your most important tasks will include: ­

• Lead for SG Finance Accounting and APAC Group Reporting – you will represent Asia on global calls and lead regional calls to align on group reporting processes and implementation of changes across Asia. You will also work closely with countries providing advice and guidance on group reporting related items
• Deliver Group (IFRS) reporting for ING Singapore and Asia: reliable financial accounting and financial reporting including maintenance of a strong control environment (SOX) and management of Finance change. This is extended with responsibility for SG legal numbers submitted to local regulator (MAS) eg. ALCO, SMC and CRAFT.
• Stakeholder management:
  -coordinate Singapore and Asia Group reporting delivery with shared service centre Manila, senior Finance management ING Asia and ING Group Finance Amsterdam
  coordinate on product valuations with senior client facing staff, risk management functions and finance experts at Group and in the region
  -coordinate annual Singapore branch audit with auditors and senior branch management
  -coordinate roll-out of accounting policies in the region with heads of finance branches and the Policies & Procedures team
• People management: managing the Singapore Group Financial reporting team including staffing, team/individual development and running the annual performance cycle (objective setting, resource allocation and appraisals)
• Finance innovation projects – you will drive and lead finance innovation projects with the goal to standardize and streamline processes, and improve efficiency and quality of financial accounting and information distributed across Asia.
• Help safeguard the bank: support internal control of the bank via focus on a) efficiency and effectiveness of operations, b) reliability of financial reporting, c) compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and d) safeguarding the assets of the organization;
• Act as a pro-active business partner and advisor for internal stakeholders in all the above-mentioned areas

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

• Able to handle ambiguity in deal fact pattern and apply judgment as for many deals, there will not be prescriptive policies or IFRS guidance
• Able to work across different finance teams, an ability to influence others and to make supportable and actionable recommendations – thus ensuring advice is understood and gets implemented correctly
• Able to work with various system applications, such as MS Excel, to provide support to individuals making monthly derivative accounting entries, and to be able to use their knowledge and experience to review monthly derivative accounting journal entries
• Able to understand how deal attributes are housed in ETRM systems, such as Endur, and then understand how that information flows into the financial results
• Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and make independent conclusions based on appropriate accounting guidance and company policies

This role is focused on gathering the needs of the Financial Operations Strategic Support and translating that need into epics and stories used by IT to transform them into a quality product. Development of user acceptance and regression test cases are necessary to be successful in this role. We are now recruiting for a Head of Accounting, Control & Projects, to provide leadership on all areas of financial accounting and control for the Irish Distillers Group.

Responsibilities

• Management and optimisation of services provided by outsourcing partner QX Ltd.

• Managing financial accounting operations/transactions and integrity of general ledger

• Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are correctly stated and reconciled

• Responsible for reviewing the consolidation packs for the IDG group (both at half year and full year) for reporting to the Pernod Ricard consolidation team, in accordance with IFRS.  This includes responsibility for balance sheet, appendices and intercompany reconciliations.

• Responsible for maintaining an effective system of internal controls

• Leading the transformation initiatives relating to the balance sheet reporting and accounting effectiveness and efficiencies.

• Liaise with the Pernod Ricard consolidation team on technical accounting issues and application of Group Accounting Guidelines

• Lead contact for and management of external auditors, with responsibility for driving and maintaining the relationship with them.

• Responsible for ensuring the external audit is coordinated and managed, including establishing appropriate fees and ensuring appropriate reporting of all issues.

• Responsible for ensuring all statutory compliance matters (preparation of statutory accounts, etc.) are met for the various entities within the IDG group

• Management and development of a high performing team, driving clear responsibilities, development and career planning.

• Completion of ad hoc tasks / projects as required, especially in relation to providing technical accounting advice on any specific projects

Education, Professional Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA or similar qualification

• Minimum 5+ years PQE

Principal Accountabilities

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Primary technical accounting expert in key areas
