This Program Assistant position is located at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing a range of diverse administrative support assignments that include spending a minimum of 25% of time assisting managers in evaluating programs and their effectiveness in delivering services. 3. Performs as DBIDS Site Security Manager (SSM) and/or Base Security Official (BSO) by maintaining system infrastructure, creating, updating, and deleting user profiles as well as other system administrator functions as required.

• Monitors the security clearance in-processing of military and civilian personnel into the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).
• Monitors pending cases and conducts telephonically or electronically (i.e., email etc.) checks with Defense Counter Intelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Adjudications on the status of investigations without granted eligibility.
• Provides Personnel Security Training to Battalion (BN) Security Managers.
• Provides briefings and written reports to the Command's Staff on the status of personnel security actions within the command, on an as requested basis.
• Provides regular security updates on the status of investigations for commissioning cadets to Brigade and Battalion (BN) personnel.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Physical Security Support: monitors and responds to alarms; traces access patterns, programming, assigns or removes user permissions, and remotely opens and secures doors during routine and emergency operations; determines when to dispatch law enforcement or other personnel to investigate; maintains radio/alarm activity records/logs to include dates, times, and results of communications and activities; prepares completed reports; issues and retrieves government issued keys and/or identification cards; and maintains accountability of Police Officer badges issued and all associated logs.
• Communications: monitors and receives routine and emergency calls from a variety of sources that need police, fire, medical or other emergency services; maintains contact with law enforcement units; monitors and directs responses to security and life safety communications, radio dispatches, telephone calls, and other emergency communication circuits; coordinates with various federal, state and local law enforcement officials for coordination of emergency situations; and operates a variety of communications equipment, telephones and computer systems to support both routine and emergency operations.

• Serve as Security Assistant with responsibility for managing all aspects of the security program within the organization, which includes: information, personnel and property.
• Manage the Foreign Disclosure and Visits program.
