Summary of Job Duties:
The Security Systems Administrator works directly under the supervision of the Director of Security and Support Services and is responsible for assisting with specialized assignments in different functional areas such as networking of low voltage systems, user services, operations, technical services, or systems applications. Responsible for the maintenance, installation, set up & data input for security systems, structured cabling, and overhead paging systems at UAMS-owned and/or operated properties across the state. Assists with the design of UAMS security systems and low voltage systems. Supervises other personnel in the Security Division in the Senior Security Systems Administrator’s absence. Coordinate and supervise low-voltage contractors used for the installation and maintenance of these systems. Assists with investigations and data collection as needed. Assists with the collection and decimation of information/data as well as training for our Emergency Management, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Security programs. This position is subject to on-call response for emergencies that occur after normal business hours.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 yrs. of experience in two of the following video surveillance, badge access, intrusion detection, or infant abduction security platforms -OR- Associate's Degree 3 yrs. of experience in two of the following video surveillance, badge access, intrusion detection, or infant abduction security platforms -OR- Bachelor's Degree 1 yrs. of experience in two of the following video surveillance, badge access, intrusion detection, or infant abduction security platforms.
- Demonstrates qualities of leadership with an understanding of security and low voltage systems operations and design.
- Demonstrates qualities of personnel management and planning practices and techniques.
- Ability to coordinate projects and serve as a liaison to contractors on the installation of the Security and Low Voltage Systems.
- Assists with design and installations of security and low voltage systems.
- Occasional work beyond normal hours and potential exposure to danger is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Linux OS
- Arkansas Alarm, Level 1 license, certification in video surveillance or access control platforms
- Experience with emergency management and security processes
