Specialty Printing and Technology Solutions (SPTS) brings HP inkjet technology to new markets through partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).  SPTS applies an entrepreneurial approach to quickly identify and pursue market opportunities for the application of TIJ technology. SPTS provides TIJ solutions to a wide range of markets by leveraging, repurposing, designing and refining HP assets to enable our OEMs success.  SPTS team members have direct customer impact and business influence.

This position will support the Manufacturing Engineering Team within SPTS, which has manufacturing and new product introduction responsibilities.    As a member of the SPTS Manufacturing Engineering team, you will have responsibilities covering product assurance of supply, product cost, product quality, and supplier sourcing, selection, and management. Representing the operations organization as part of broader new product introduction programs, and support manufacturing specific projects.  Will work closely with internal colleagues in Engineering, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Operations and Procurement.

You will also have procurement and manufacturing responsibilities for part of SPTS’s product portfolio, which may include printheads, suppliers, hardware, enablers, and lower-level components.  leading efforts towards data transformation.   This includes working with the team to identify the right product and MPa measures and metrics, automate data and information collection, and present it in an accessible manner that provides insight and understanding to drive action. 

This role also includes:

• Establishing and/or maintaining the records and documentation associated with these products and partners/suppliers

• Innovating to improve processes, approaches, or solutions regarding cost reduction, quality improvement, or availability assurance

• The employee will support or lead SPTS NPI efforts.  This person must understand the design and performance requirements for the products and ensure they can be made or procured reliably for their expected life.    

• Providing Manufacturing Engineering team, cross operations, or overall program management leadership for new product introduction programs, including establishing plans, managing schedules, identifying benchmarks, and promoting best practices.

• Participating in reviews and evaluations of designs for compliance with design and manufacturing guidelines and standards, while providing tangible feedback to improve product quality, increase manufacturability, increase ease of assembly, and reduce cost.

• Owning manufacture of parts, component sub- assemblies, assembly/test tools, and final assemblies, based on established engineering principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related technical field

• Additional degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or Business a plus

• 5-10 years of procurement, commodity management, product development, sourcing, or supplier management experience.

• PMP Certification a plus

Job Qualifications:

In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:

• Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
• Perform advanced engineering studies and calculations
• Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projects
• Create and review bill of materials for substation physical projects
• Develop and review proposals, and scopes of work for substation physical projects
• Develop and provide advanced technical presentations to the team to assist with staff technical development
• Be involved in client interaction (including site visits) with a drive for customer satisfaction
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives

What you will bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, civil or related degree with eight (8+) plus years of related Substation physical design experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid (power generation, transmission and distribution) system
• Experience with advanced engineering studies and calculations (lighting, grounding studies, Arc flash, AC & DC load studies, volt-drop, lightning studies and protection)
• Experience with HV and MV Physical Electrical Design for medium to large scale utility substations(Including Electrical Layout, Design and Specification for :-DC Systems – Station Service, Battery, DC Panels and Switchgear, Chargers, ATS, MTS AC Systems – AC Station Service, AC Panels and Switchgear, AC Transformer Auxiliary Power)

It would be nice if you had:

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
• Master’s degree in related field
• Experience with bus calculation
• Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS

As an Electrical Project Engineer in the project team, you will be responsible to provide high quality engineering services and specifications for the Planning, Design, Construction, Start-up, and Commissioning of your discipline specific Facilities systems in support of the success of the project.  

You will participate in Project Design and Scope Development, Documentation, and Control Change, Vendor Selection, Project Tendering, and onsite Discipline Project Safety, Coordination and Execution for your discipline.

The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience managing MEP projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. He or she will have a strong working knowledge of all aspects of Electrical systems and be able to effectively communicate with all project stakeholders.  

Responsibilities and Tasks

Project Team Discipline Lead

• Provide input and support to the Project Manager during the development of Client Procedures (Project Execution Plan and Construction execution plan).
• Coordinate with GFC, Local Project Team, Vendors, AE, GC etc. to ensure successful project completion.
• Meeting regularly with all stakeholders (GFC, end users, operations, project, contractors, vendors, etc.) to discuss project progress and issues that may arise during the project execution.
• Track, Prepare and Report progress weekly on Project progress, risk, schedule, cost for Discipline. Overseeing the project team’s work to ensure that they meet deadlines and milestones. 
• Ensure all Project scope is executed to Safety Standards and requirements. Review all Job plans for high risk during construction in discipline related areas /scope.
• Review of project documents for compliance with company standards and procedures to ensure that they meet requirements and specifications. 
• Identification and resolution of project issues and risks
• Providing technical expertise and experience where needed to solve complex problems
• Monitoring changes in legislation and industry trends to ensure that projects are up to date with best practices
• Management Discipline Scope Change Process and documentation.
• Provide Project Procurement Technical Support
• Oversee Disciplines installation Q&A assurance and Testing and Commissioning   Activities.
• Coordinate and Lead Project Closeout activities for Discipline; Punch listing and verification, Documentation and System Handover.
• Conducting of project meetings and site visits
• Managing Design & Construction vendors and Gas Plant Supplier to ensure that they meet deadlines and deliver high-quality products or services according to specifications
• Managing conflict among team members to ensure that all parties are collaborating well with each other towards the common goals/ objectives. 
• Ensure successful delivery of seamless facility commissioning and turnover process that focuses on the end user (i.e. the Operations & Maintenance).
• Manage review and approve commissioning file for each systems & equipment’s which includes Method Statements, single line diagram, site instructions, deviation list, various tests, equipment datasheet & specification, relay setting calculations, etc
• Manage Site acceptance testing (SAT) witness and certification process for all equipment and systems. Reviewing functional test data for evidencing compliance with performance specifications and other standards. Reporting on testing and inspection results and coordinating for Engineer/ consultant’s sign off /certification of the relevant systems/sub systems as applicable.
• Coordinate with the Construction manager(s), Engineers, Project Manager, AE ,and GC for Inspection of respective systems /subsystem’s and documentations of functional testing record sheet for disciplines.
• Coordinate with GC for schedule of GC attendance at site for critical equipment, complex system packages and monitoring the GC presence as per schedule to be prepared and agreed during project execution.
• Development of relationships with internal and external customers and organizations.
• SIPP document check and review.
• BIM section
  • Control the schedule and quality of discipline BIM model.
  • Responsible for reviewing the discipline BIM models to find and track clash, space management issues.
  • Responsible for coordination of the BIM models to identify clashes with other disciplines.
  • Consolidate client queries and help to coordinate with GC to resolve the issues.
  • Ensure that all issues and clashes are resolved before GC produces shop drawings.
  • Ensure the GC shop drawing is aligned with BIM model.
  • Ensure GC has used BIM models for constructability studies prior to development of shop drawings.
  • Ensure space management done with Client operations team input.
  • Ensure coordinated models are used to help identify EHS issues with all EHS team member input.
  • Ensure the construction is consistent with as-built model.
  • Ensure the required Client parameters are filled in by the GC.
  • Collect clash numbers for consolidation and reporting to Client on a weekly basis.

Electrical engineer needs the following skills: 

• Communication: As an Electrical engineer, you will be responsible for communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, team members and suppliers. Effective communication to convey important information, answer questions and resolve issues. 
• Organized: Being organized to help a Project Manager save time, as they can more easily find the information they need or the files they need to access. 
• Time management: Ensure that each task is completed on time and within budget. 
• Problem-solving: As an Electrical engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project, which means you need to be able to identify potential issues and develop solutions to overcome them. For example, if a supplier is unable to deliver the materials needed for a project, you may be able to develop a plan to continue the project. 
• Leadership: As an Electrical engineer, you can use your leadership skills to help your team work together to complete projects on time and within budget.

• Carry out sales of Fire-tube Industrial boilers (oil or gas fired) and Electric Boilers in Malaysia.
• Look for opportunities in target verticals for new plants and expansions and touch base with key
persons/decisions makers for the project
• Customer protecting across different Industries and Geographical Locations in Malaysia
• Deliver technical presentations to prospective new customers, existing customers and installation
companies
• Responsible for leading the full process of the sales project from pre-sales activities, tender submission,
logistics until the successful installation/commissioning of the equipment
• Coordination with after-sales team for fulfilment of the commissioning, boiler servicing, and spare parts
sales.
• Support Country Head in sales reports, business development and any ad hoc matters
• In-depth Product Training will be provided
