The new Centre for Investor Protection aims to undertake independent research, public education and related activities to promote the improvement of investor protection in Singapore and beyond. Projects conducted by the centre should have significant implications for policy and practices relating to investor protection. The key types of research and activities to be conducted are:

The Research Manager will report to the centre Director and is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the centre’s projects. ITT Centre Manager / Trainer and Assessor who is an experienced teacher with good knowledge of Initial Teacher Training provision/programmes is required for the leadership and operational delivery of a busy teacher training programme for a joint partnership in Hedge End, Southampton.

This role is known within the organisation as a Centre Director


SALARY: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (DOE) + TLR2c £7,847 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an ITT Centre Manager / Trainer and Assessor who is an experienced teacher with good knowledge of Initial Teacher Training provision/programmes.

As a ITT Centre Manager / Trainer and Assessor you will be responsible for the leadership and operational delivery of the ITT programme at the Centre.

Working as the ITT Centre Manager / Trainer and Assessor you will lead of Centre-Based training, including contributing to the design and delivery of the Curriculum, and oversea the Administration at the Centre.

You will support the training of Mentors, and be responsible for the Assessment of the Trainees in the Centre.


DUTIES

Your role as ITT Centre Manager / Trainer and Assessor will include:

Strategic leadership:

• Keeping abreast of developments in ITE and the wider education sector from both the DfE, Ofsted and latest reputable research

• Keep both the Steering Group and Strategic Leadership Board updated with regards to any developments

Curriculum and Programme:

• Lead on developing, monitoring and redesigning an appropriate Curriculum and Programme

• Ensure that the curriculum for the Centre-based training is appropriately sequenced through Professional and Pedagogical Studies, Subject Studies and the Mentor Curriculum

• Contribute to and support the QTS and PGCE assessment framework (both formative and summative)

• Regularly engage in research and maintaining a good understanding of contemporary developments in ITE and Teaching and Learning/CPD at secondary level

• Leading, coaching and managing another Hub Programme Lead to ensure consistency in the delivery and quality of ITT provision across both training hubs and across the entire Partnership

• Leading, coaching and managing the Subject Tutors

• Provide leadership, training, and guidance to school based Professional Mentors

• Design the Mentor Curriculum and Programme content and structure

• Plan the programme of training of Mentors and Professional Mentors and deliver this training across the Partnership schools

• Design sample targets in line with the Curriculum for each stage of the programme

• Assist the securing of facilitators across the Partnership (and beyond) to lead aspects of the Professional Studies programme

• Support progression of training between PS sessions via regular communication and development/publication of material (i.e. weekly Bulletin, recorded materials for Trainees and SBT/PM)

• Support driving standards of school based training through regular and targeted meetings and coaching opportunities

Recruitment of new Trainees:

• Lead on Recruitment at the Centre

• Carry out interviews of prospective Trainees in line with the Recruitment policy and procedure

• Provide effective feedback to the Administration Lead on outcomes of any interviews and complete appropriate documentation

• Support and contribute to the marketing and recruitment of Trainees

• Be expert and an experienced teacher

• Have leadership experience (desirable not essential)

• Have the ability to think and work strategically

• Have knowledge and experience of up to date ITT provision/programmes

• Understand and act quickly and effectively in new and complex situations
