The Opportunity:

The College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona is seeking applications for a visiting faculty position (academic rank will be based on experience) to teach Air Traffic Management beginning fall 2024.

The faculty member will teach core air traffic management courses with an emphasis on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated curriculum and material. Depending on the course assignment, the teaching format can be either in-person lecture or computer simulation based. Additional duties include student advising, curriculum development, committee service, scholarship and presentations. Faculty contracts are nine-month positions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Thorough understanding of current air traffic control procedures in the enroute, terminal and control tower settings and be able to convey that knowledge and material to a student body with a wide variance of understanding.
• Knowledge and experience in Air Traffic Management and/or an instrument flight rating is required.
• Undergraduate and Master’s degree in technical aviation-related fields.
• Willing to motivate, mentor and advise young adults toward succeeding as the future’s air traffic management professionals.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous management and teaching experience, as well as proficiency in the use of the Canvas Learning Management Platform.
• Experience with STARS, ERAM and ASDE-X

Major duties and responsibilities include the following:

Assists with providing administrative and technical supervisory direction required for accomplishing day-to-day activities. Assists with planning work assignments, developing performance requirements and expectations and conducting periodic performance evaluations. Develops and uses automated systems to account for inventory management of supplies, equipment, tools and parts. Monitors supply transaction records to identify usage trends. Tracks changes in usage rates, cost, and availability from suppliers.

Prepares transaction quantity reports. Reviews physical inventory reports for compliance with inventory management program requirements.

Evaluates trends in storage management methodologies. Recommends updating equipment and technology as appropriate based on findings and long-term cost/benefit considerations.

Monitors availability of funds and reports usage trends of budgeted supply and equipment purchase and equipment repairs. 

- Support in data analysis cases and projects (data extraction, collation and analysis using tools such as MS PowerBI, SQL, python, R etc.)
- Participate in problem solving on Operational KPIs and Master parameters and values (in coordination with regional project and local operations teams)
- Provide support and preparation of Business Case Presentation and Project Management together with regional project team 
- Support Monthly reporting requirements by specific project requirements
- Provide general administration support to the department on regular or ad-hoc basis

JOB PURPOSE

This role primarily involves the recruitment and data collection activities of the public health research projects will contribute towards the building of a population health biobank for Singapore.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inviting target participants as defined above to take part in the relevant study by phone call or messaging;
• Screening their eligibility for the study and making an appointment with them for the study procedures;
• Provide logistical information for the interview and study site visit;
• Obtaining permission to begin audio-recording of the explanation of study procedures, consent information and interview;
• Explaining the information in the study consent documents to the extent that the consent, if given, would be informed and voluntary;
• Obtaining participants’ consent before beginning any study procedures;
• Interview participants according to the e-questionnaire and enter the responses accurately to the e-questionnaire via a tablet; and timely completion of interview and registration of participants for their study site visit procedures before the cut-off time.
• Any other responsibilities as required by future research projects.

- Manages the Fleet Credit Card accounts, as designated fund control point clerk, initiates monthly 1358s expenditures for GSA vehicles and reconciles monthly costs to ensure obligations are within allotted ceiling and promptly processed for payment.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting and the control/subsidiary account relationships and reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and disbursing officer's accountability.
- Ability and knowledge to deal effectively with customer agencies and with state and local governments, transportation policy committees, Federal Executive Boards/ Associations and local planning commissions.
- Directing, assisting, and instructing all facility employees on the use of government vehicles both GSA leased and VA owned and the credit cards attached to each vehicle
- Plan and coordinate the vehicle rotation program by reviewing utilization patterns, then scheduling and rotating vehicle usage to achieve maximum efficiency and economy.
- Enters into service agreements for maintenance, all fuels and related services with other Federal agencies when cost and other considerations indicate a benefit to the Government will result.
- Plans, directs, and administers the complete maintenance program for a variety of standard and special purpose vehicles.
