• learn how logistics spend is accounted for in the financial statements, accrual processes that take place and deep dive data analytics with the Operations Team to assess the reasoning behind trends and outlooks

• Help with the analysis of the financial and logistics spend for a Supply Chain organization

• Execute the end of month financial processes including accrual submissions

Primary Responsibilities:

• Successful candidates will work with management and company employees to learn daily processes within Hy-Vee’s warehouses and manufacturing.
• Responsibilities will be similar to what is expected of an entry-level supply chain or manufacturing professional.
• The internship will include learning daily processes needed to successfully service customers with the expectation of contributing new ideas in the form of a final presentation or paper at the conclusion of the internship.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Supply Chain Intern to support our Purchasing team in maintaining and enhancing our rigorous standards for aerospace manufacturing. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment while contributing to the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. In this position, you can make immediate contributions in enhancing the current Supply Chain program by providing daily support in Supply Chain related issues.

This internship position is full-time and based at our Downers Grove Aerospace Facility and is walking distance to the Metra Train Station.

Key Accountabilities

• Support Supply Chain Team by creating and improving processes and tools to improve efficiency and efficacy in key focus areas (Procurement, Shipping, Receiving, Order Picking & Cycle Counting)
• Participate in Kaizen events to improve material procurement, storage and retrieval and control.
• Support Purchasing team by taking over a small product group and performing standard Buyer tasks:
  • Plan, Schedule and Release purchase orders in order to maximize on-time delivery to customers while minimizing inventory and operational costs.
  • Review inventory levels and take action to reduce unnecessary inventory.
  • Systematically analyze Supplier on-time performance and inventory levels, derive root causes for deviations to standard, and drive corrective measures to achieve standard.
