Carbon Technical Specialist

CIX is looking for a Carbon Technical Specialist to help assess the quality of Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) carbon credits and their underlying projects across all project types. This is a part of CIX’s commitment to quality. You will play a crucial role in evaluating the quality of carbon credit projects as well as building new assessment frameworks by project type. Strong analytical skills, carbon finance and/or background in a particular project type, interdisciplinary thinking, and ability to work independently are critical for this position. A commercial understanding of the drivers of the VCM preferred, but not required.

This role is ideally based in Singapore and will report directly to the Head of Marketplace & Auction, with a dotted line to the Carbon Markets Director.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Carbon Markets Director to conduct comprehensive interdisciplinary integrated technical analyses of VCM carbon credit projects and identify key risks for carbon technical, environmental and social Safeguards, operations, policy, etc risks associated with a particular project type. CIX’s assessment framework will be used to conduct assessments. Majority of projects encompass Verra VCS or Gold Standard or CAR.
• Develop new project type assessment frameworks as needed and keep existing ones updated.
• Conduct literature searches to identify relevant information for assessments and assessment frameworks.

Roles/Responsibilities

1. Responsible to provide BAU support for responsible for ensuring system availability and provide support for applications like Core HR, Self Service HR, Leave Management, Talent Management, Compensation Modules and other ERP financial modules.

2. Responsible to provide operational support and ensure SLI of system availability, online and batch deliverables.

3. Support diverse jurisdictions comprising of SG, MY, CN, International

4. Fine tune applications and systems for high performance and higher volume throughput

5. Contribute to business requirement review for technical implementation as a subject matter expert for IT to ensure SDLC standards are met.

6. Conduct review of technical and functional solutions from enhancement/project team to ensure they conform to IT standards.

7. Respond on time to the queries raised by various business units.

8. Provide timely updates regarding production status and progress of issue resolution.

9. Perform impact analysis of enhancements/projects that will impact supported systems.

10. Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity exercises.

11. Provide on-call support and afterhours/weekend support as needed, covering application support and application change deployment.

12. Have a quality mind-set with prevention attitude to attain zero defects

13. Able to support SIT/UAT/PROD/DR deployment, with DevOps

14. Able to support relevant software/platform/database upgrade for the systems

Roles/Responsibilities

· Up to 9 years of IT experience & 5+ Years on Channels and Payment applications in banking/financial services industry. Knowledge on G3 and SWIFTalliance is preferred.

· Possess good knowledge on 3 tiers-architecture application to:

o Provide L2 support – Be able to understand the application architecture, and interfaces to upstream/downstream.

· Support day-to-day IT operations – production issue resolution. Analyse issue raised by users or reported by monitoring system. Perform impact analysis and suggest workaround solution for service recovery.

· Be able to specify the monitoring requirement and observing system abnormality ahead of time to prevent issues from happening.

· Be able to conduct application capacity planning and perform performance tuning.

· Be able to participate/conduct regular DR simulation/live DR exercise.

· Good interpersonal skills and capable to communicate with different work groups within internal IT, BU/Operations and external vendors.

Job Descriptions:

• Maintaining and administering the computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
• Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups/recover when required.
• Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing security measures in accordance to best practises
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other system problems.
• Coordinate replacement of faulty hardware components with vendors when required.
• Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
• Monitoring system performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
• Conferring with users about solving existing system problems.
• Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of various systems.
• Configuring and testing the systems
• Responding to inquiries from users, IT peers, vendors and to provide technical assistance and support
• Create system architecture diagram and documentation for design and planning interfaces with various communication systems.
• Ensure control and compliance for the systems and servers related are available to only authorize users which follows policies and SOPs closely
• Attending audit meetings and ensure proper documentation of all work done
• Work as team with users and within IT for problem resolution
• Vendor management
• Establish/maintains customer relationship with partners or internal users to ensure complete understanding of business processes to enable the delivery of viable Infrastructure solution.
• Responsible for providing leadership, advice and to line management on Infra & security. Its role also includes identifying risk and to recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate.
• Coordinate with any contractor/partners for interfacing matters
• Perform regular backup/recovery test and any other compliance test where to ensure business continuity based on SOP

Job Requirements:

• 4-5 years on Hyper-V/Wondows Server/Linux
• Familiar with HCI (Nutanix) or blade technology
• System security
• Ability to create accurate system architecture diagram and documentation for design and planning interfaces with various communication systems.
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP) is a plus
• Work with vendors
• Knowledge of system best practices
• Basic networking knowledge
