CNRS@CREATE is looking for a Research Assistant – Human Geography/Urban Studies to join our SPACE project team.

SPACE PROJECT

The SPACE project is developing a research protocol for infectious disease prediction and prevention in Singapore. The project draws upon analyses of the risk factors and sociospatial patterns that drive dengue and COVID-19 transmission in Singapore, as well as the social and technical skills developed by individuals and community groups in response to disease propagation. Combining insight from the social sciences (geography, architecture and urban design, communication, economics, sociology, public policy) with biology (epidemiology, entomology) and computer science (artificial intelligence, biostatistics), the project will use the concept of “adaptive capacity” (AC) to explore the potential of community-based “latent social capital” (i.e. human, cultural, political, and social) as key assets for adaptive responses to health challenges related to dengue in its interplay with COVID-19.

The project brings together 23 researchers, 10 from France and 13 from five Singaporean universities (NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU and SUSS). The research will be conducted in Singapore.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the SPACE project on “Shaping Public Adaptive Capacity for Environmental Infectious Diseases”. The successful applicant will be working on the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) on public health within the realms of social sciences and urban studies.

The SPACE project brings together researchers from France and from five Singaporean universities (NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU and SUSS). The research will be conducted in Singapore.

Job tasks:

• Literature search and review
• Secondary data collection, data analysis, including content analysis, thematic coding, and statistical analysis
• Contribution to qualitative field research (conduct face-to-face interviews), transcription and coding of interviews

About The Role

The Team Leader, Mid-term and Long-Term Market Analytics, will be accountable for leading a small, focused team in delivering market analysis to enhance decision support in Shell’s global LNG business. The Team Leader will be principally responsible for meeting the analytical needs of Shell’s LNG trading business with a focus on developing longer term views of the global gas market. The Team Leader will directly lead a team of four (4) analysts focused upon three tasks:

• development of the Mid-term and Long-term outlook for LNG;

• managing delivery of annual updates of gas and LNG Project Screening Values;

• and managing delivery of power fundamentals for the Asia region.

The Team Leader will also indirectly guide the work of data scientists and data engineers working to transform the data architecture underpinning mid and long-term analytics.

The Team Leader will be accountable for developing the mid- and long-term outlook for LNG in support of multiple internal clients and helping shape the LNG portfolio within Shell. The Team Leader will have one direct report supporting this work, who will be accountable for maintaining and operating a global gas market model.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Contracts team as an Assistant Manager/ Manager. The successful candidate will manage and negotiate contracts relating to intellectual property, technology licensing, and agreements crucial to realising NUS’s translational research mandate and TTI’s commercialisation goals.

Working closely with diverse teams within TTI and the NUS faculty, this role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage and refine your contract drafting and negotiation skills while driving innovation and technology commercialisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contract Management

• Draft, negotiate and manage contracts related to the translation and commercialisation of NUS IP, including license agreements, option agreements, technology development agreements, materials transfer agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Work with in-house or external legal counsel to ensure contracts align with NUS policies, legal requirements, and TTI's commercialisation goals.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual arrangements and technology transfer activities.
• Work closely with NUS research community and administration/finance offices to process and complete documentation relating to such contracts.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of contract negotiations, agreements, and IP-related matters.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders as required.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with various teams within TTI and across NUS Enterprise to support the innovation and enterprise initiatives of NUS.
• Proactively engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts are concluded in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Biology / Chemistry / Engineering/ Computer Science or a similar scientific discipline and/or a Law degree (or related disciplines).
• Minimum 3 years of working experience, with demonstrated relevant experience in contracts management and negotiation roles highly preferred.
• Knowledge of university technology transfer processes and IP-related concepts is preferred.
• Familiarity with IP and contracts management databases or software.
• Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good time management skills and the ability to handle tight deadlines

• Lead and supervise a team of Executives, Administrative Assistant and Technicians for the overall operation
• Motivate staff to ensure productivity at work and advocate for improvement on works processes and areas to achieve excellent customer service
• Responsible for planning, monitoring and maintaining the operational and capital expenditures of the buildings as assigned
• Ensure that preventive maintenance works are carried out by service providers in accordance with the Contract requirements
• Responsible for overall smooth operation of the buildings as assigned and ensures that all emergencies are attended to promptly and rectified with minimal inconvenience and disruption to tenants and owners. Incident reports are to be submitted promptly per SOPs
