What you will be responsible for…

• Own and drive technical products and services from inception to completion, including management and prioritisation of proposition roadmap. Ensure product delivery runs smoothly, on time and within budget and meeting commercial targets.

In this role, you will report to the Group Compliance Lead and support the MLRO. As a member of our focused and results-driven Regulatory Compliance team, you will be responsible for driving and integrating processes and controls to prevent and detect financial crime risks.

As a key part of the second line of defence, you will proactively assist internal stakeholders and collaborate closely with first-line defence functions. Financial Crime Manager

Haven is currently seeking a Financial Crime Manager.

In this role, you will report to the Group Compliance Lead and support the MLRO. As a member of our focused and results-driven Regulatory Compliance team, you will be responsible for driving and integrating processes and controls to prevent and detect financial crime risks.

As a key part of the second line of defence, you will proactively assist internal stakeholders and collaborate closely with first-line defence functions. Your role will involve providing timely and robust guidance, support, and oversight while instilling a culture of financial crime prevention through clear policies, risk assessment, mitigation, and training. You will identify opportunities for collaboration with internal stakeholders and implement process changes to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position located at our Head Office in Hemel Hempstead, with three days per week onsite and the remaining days working remotely.

Your Opportunity:
To learn, develop and become an expert in a key area of the business by:
- Developing and implementing an effective financial crime prevention framework across the BLL Group, encompassing policies, processes, and training. This involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify overarching business and functional obligations, risks, and controls.
- Sustaining the financial crime prevention framework by proactively identifying and evaluating emerging risks, regulatory obligations, and business needs.
- Actively collaborate with first-line defence teams to establish and integrate processes and controls that align with financial crime regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Offering risk-based advice and guidance on financial crime matters to internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of risk awareness, assessment, mitigation, and necessary process improvements to meet regulatory obligations.
- Serving as the primary contact for first-line defence teams in Caravan Sales, addressing sanctions check referrals and KYC/CDD onboarding queries within agreed SLAs.
- Supporting Procurement in implementing an appropriate CDD/EDD approach to facilitate vendor onboarding in line with financial crime regulatory standards and company policy.
- Cultivating and enhancing comprehensive knowledge of UK regulatory mandates, including Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG, and FCA Rules.
- Fostering positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, promoting open communication, collaboration, and best practice sharing.
- Managing the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports to the NCA and oversee any ensuing actions.
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate reporting mechanisms, including KPIs and processes, to identify and analyse the impact of new and emerging legislative/regulatory financial crime risks.

- Strong understanding of all the functions impacted by financial crime legislation + how they are impacted to ensure appropriate advice, processes & controls.
- Strong understanding of BLL’s regulated activities and the functions impacted to ensure specific risks are identified, understood and mitigated.

Jobs Responsibilities

• Provide frequent and timely research insights on macro-economy and prioritize follow-up on their inquiries as there are new company, macroeconomic, geopolitical developments.

• Stay abreast of financial market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments.

• Monitor and analyze industries and markets to source for suitable investment opportunities and timely provide expert advice on investment recommendations and articulate investment thesis, risks, and payoff for each recommendation， especially Hong Kong and US market.

• Handle global company and sector research to contribute to the decision to stock selection and portfolio construction.

• Provide opinions on the outlook for equities pertaining to existing and potential investment portfolios which includes providing key and pertinent market drivers from top-down and bottom-up perspectives.

• Produce detailed analysis reports for each stock or fixed income covered and regularly update their recommendations for internal use.

• Provide weekly analysis summaries for high-conviction stock for all sectors.

• Pro-actively contribute to the investment process to both reduce transaction costs and identify alpha opportunities. Gather and disseminate market, sector, and product information to provide actionable investment ideas and implementation strategies.

• Any relevant ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Degree in business/economics, finance or accounting or related professional qualification, with relevant years of experience from financial/ investment/assets management industry.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, investment management, risk management involving Hong Kong and US markets is required.

• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of macroeconomic factors.

• Excellent knowledge in global company and sector analysis and proficiency in formulating and executing investment strategies.

• Independent and critical thinker with exceptional analytical ability

• Strong communication skills (oral and written) in Mandarin and English (to liaise with Chinese-speaking boss)

• Support finance and accounts when needed.
