Purpose of the Role:

You will be a part of the Asian Investment Banking Division (“AIBD”) that sits in the front line, responsible for the promotion of Corporate & Investment Banking (“CIB”) products and services in the Asia and Oceania region, covering both Global Corporates and Japanese Corporates. You will lead, supervise and provide senior guidance to Team Leads and relevant team members responsible for portfolio management in the PF and the RE sub-units within the department.

Job Responsibilities:

You will play an important role in our team by taking on responsibilities that include (but are not limited to):

Client Management and Strategy

• Manage and lead the PF and RE sub-units in the implementation of solutions through stakeholder negotiations with clients, bank syndicates, external specialist advisors and internal stakeholders including negotiation of waiver terms and amendment documents.
• Co-work with Origination team in the arrangement of refinancing transaction, such as deal execution, negotiation, documentation review.

• Work on key frameworks to enable clients to give new-to-bank flows. e.g non-standard collateral framework, clearing enablement for Swaps and other bank and securities products.
• Collaborate closely with Credit Risk department to formulate and roll out credit policies for new client segments and initiatives
• Coordinate business approvals for legal documentation (non standard collateral, additional termination events etc)
• Minimize risks, delays and maximize quality standards while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations while onboarding clients
• Improve and simplify overall SMBC Institutional onboarding process with a goal to reducing turn-around times for onboarding
• Pro-actively engage all business partners with a view to prioritize and coordinate the various onboarding streams to deliver best-in-class client experience.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Law
• Legal training or experience specifically handling ISDA and CSA Documentation negotiation
• Experience in onboarding clients to a Markets platform and leading strategic projects in Global Markets or Structured Products in banking
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in legal document negotiations / client facilitation / client onboarding for a markets platform of a banking institution
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate a matrix organization and build relationships with key stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility of this role is to support in the supervision of credit risk management function in RMDAP. This role also leads cross-functional initiatives in RMDAP including model governance, data governance, group risk management and new product risk management.
• Develop risk management framework including timely portfolio analysis, risk appetite framework and stress testing for credit risk management.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives in Risk Management, including regional model governance with implementing model life cycle management for each model, regional risk data governance for accurate regulatory reporting for SMBC's group subsidiaries' risk management and new product risk management.
• Review and monitor credit risk management status including Risk Appetite Measures, Risk Control Measures and EWIs to take proper management actions.
• Collaborate with HO, other regional risk management departments, risk management functions in the branches and front departments in APAC to improve the regional risk management framework.
• Build a strong compliance and risk management culture in Risk Management

Requirements

• Degree/Masters in Banking and Finance or equivalent
• Strong working experience and knowledge in in credit / market / liquidity / operational / integrated risk management in banking
• Knowledge of global financial regulations

As a Senior Developer you will be expected to drive the design of critical components in the payment stack as well as oversee the implementation of new features, focusing on code quality, automation and testability. Job Responsibilities:

• To monitor and handle all credit-related matters for portfolio of accounts assigned including annual reviews, other adhoc reviews, waiver/amendment requests and on-going portfolio monitoring including financial accounts, covenants, collaterals etc.
• To be fully conversant with the Bank's credit procedures to ensure obligor gradings are accurate and appropriate
• Undertake portfolio sensitivity analysis from time to time
• Distill complex issues, analyse cashflows and financial models and translate to meaningful, indepth credit analysis and recommendations
• Review loan documentation and terms sheet to ensure credit approved terms are as per documented
• Interface with front office/marketing teams, credit department and internal/external auditors
• Support the ongoing KYC periodic reviews for portfolio of accounts

Job Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in a finance-related field
• Min. of 10 years' credit risk experience with Structured Finance, Corporate Banking or Credit Risk environment within a Bank or Financial Institution
