Make an Impact by:

• Implementation of routing, switching and security policies of IP core networks serving the mobile network and associated value added systems.
• Install or supervision of installation of new hardware in WAN LAN infrastructure.

Essential Skills

· Degree in computer science or a numerate subject (e.g. engineering, sciences, or mathematics) or Bachelor's/master’s degree with 6 years of experience

· . Hand-on Development experience with Spark, Scala Spark and Distributed computing.

· . Development and implementation experience of applications for 4-6 years.

· . 4 to 6 years' experience designing and developing in Python.

· . 4 to 6 years' experience in Hadoop Platform (Hive, HDFS and Spark)

· . 3 to 5 years' experience with Unix shell scripting

· . 3 to 5 years' experience with SQL

· . 2 to 3 years' experience with Spark programming.

· . Knowledge of micro-services architecture and cloud will be added advantage.

· Knowledge of Java and Scala will be added advantage

Responsibilities:

· Build robust, efficient and reliable data pipelines consisting of diverse data sources to ingest and process data

· Design and develop real time streaming and batch processing pipeline solutions

· Assemble large, complex data sets to meet functional / non-functional requirements

· Design, develop and implement data pipelines for data migration and collection, data analytics and other data movement solutions

· Work with stakeholders and data analyst teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs

· Collaborate with Architects to define the architecture and technology selection

Required Skills:

· Proven working experience as Big Data engineer for 2+ years preferably in building data lake solution by ingesting and processing data from various source systems

· Understanding of SDLC processes, experience of working in a large-scale program, data warehousing and ETL development

· Experience in one or more Cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or Snowflake

· Experience in one or more of Java, Scala, Python and Bash

· Ability to work and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

· Experience in working in a fast-paced Agile environment

· Experience in DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles to build automated pipelines for deployment and production assurance on the data platform

· Share knowledge and best practices with peers that promote better technical practices across the organisation

· Experience in building various frameworks for enterprise data lake is highly desirable

The Network Engineer supports and maintains infrastructure operations; monitors infrastructure performance and resolution of technical problems.

Infrastructure planning and design

• Assist with the planning and design of infrastructure systems
• Assist with the documentation of infrastructure design and planning activities and decisions

Infrastructure operations

• Perform infrastructure operations activities such as installations of infrastructure systems according to design specifications
• Align infrastructure operations with agreed service agreement standards

Maintain infrastructure

• Perform activities related to ongoing maintenance of infrastructure
• Assist with the implementation of agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines

Optimisation of infrastructure performance

• Perform ongoing tuning and optimisation of infrastructure hardware and software components such as updates and upgrades
• Participate in infrastructure development activities
• Assist with infrastructure testing and implementation
• Gather performance and data usage statistics for capacity planning and reporting
• Assist with piloting of new tools, technologies, and/or processes

Resolve incidents

• Perform problem/issue identification and resolution
• Assist with simulation of user problems to resolve operating difficulties
• Follow up with users to ensure problem has been resolved
• Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems

Requirements / Qualifications

• Diploma in IT/Computer Engineering
• At least 4 years of experience implementing, managing and supporting a sizeable and complex network infrastructure and operation in a large organisation with off-site, subsidiaries/business unit.
• Familiar with Cisco, Fortinent devices
• Expereince in performing troubleshooting activities, upgrading firmware and applying patches
