About the organization

They are actively seeking fully qualified Accountants to assume the pivotal role of Accountant based at their corporate head office at the Golden Triangle area in Kuala Lumpur.
Key role responsibilities
As Accountant for the group, you will reporting to Senior Finance Manager. This position is a crucial technical role in the Group finance team, requiring strong consolidation skillset.
The role will include:
*Prepare group consolidated monthly,quarterly and yearly management accounts,financial statement.
*Review monthly consolidation.
*Prepare condensed statement for Bursa Malaysia,key note on segment reporting.
*Prepare monthly management accounts analysis.
*Perform month end and year end processes,Financial Accounting.
*Prepare budget, cost tracking and control report.
Candidate profile
*Malaysian in age group 30-40.
*Minimum Bachelor degree in Accounting or professional qualification ACCA/CIMA.
*3-5 years in Group Accountant role of a listed company with diversified portfolios/activities.
*Solid technical background,including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting.
*Good understanding of complex multi-tier consolidation within listed environment.
*Strong direct experience in Corporate finance portfolio will be advantageous.
*Good communication skills with proficiency in English.
*Proficient in accounting software applications

Job Summary:

An Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of indirect taxation within the Company which include identifying, evaluating, and ensuring that the Company is compliant with their indirect tax obligations to minimize the overall tax risk for the Company.

Own It:

• Prepare, submit, and make payment for bi-monthly service tax return of Pos Malaysia Berhad.
• Review and oversee the timely filing and payment of bi-monthly service tax return prepared by subsidiary (i.e., Pos Digicert Sdn Bhd).
• Prepare, submit, and make payment for quarterly Tourism tax return of Pos Malaysia Berhad.
• Manage indirect tax audit, if any - prepare necessaries required supporting documents requested by RMCD within stipulated timeline given.
• Manage indirect tax-related projects and provide advice on M&A, business ventures to ensure indirect tax implications are considered by the stakeholders.
• Verify SST implication on foreign vendor payment and monitor the related imported service tax payment to the RMCD.
• Compile and provide information for Country-by-Country Reporting on yearly basis.
• Compile information on related party transactions for Transfer Pricing (TP) on yearly basis.
• Support GLs administration activities – extract data for reporting, manage details text in specific GLs, tax implication etc.
• Involve in tax related projects introduced by the government such as e-invoicing, etc.
• Involve in discussion and engage with the tax consultants for the proposals of consulting services (i.e., MD Status application, e-invoicing and etc).

Build Trust:

• Engage with internal counterparts in solving issues.
• Maintain relationships and network with customs officers and external tax consultants.
• Liaise directly with RMCD officers in relation to any indirect tax audit.
• Provide update on new laws/regulations/guides/policies etc. to ensure compliance and increase awareness.

One Team:

• Provide functional and technical guidance on indirect tax knowledge to stakeholders when needed.
• Develop or maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documents for tax team.
• Obtain listing from the respective teams, check, and monitor Form CP58 submission to agents.

Drive Innovation:

• Ensure that work and work processes are done in the most efficient way, simplify and improvise where it is possible.
• Identify improvement opportunities to the indirect tax compliance process and implement related process changes.

Move Fast:

• Quick to adapt, have a sense of urgency and act quickly based on the business needs.
• Keep abreast with the latest development of SST/TTX law and advise impact to business.

Delight Customers:

• Develop positive working relationship with stakeholders and ensure fast response to their requests or queries.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or any other related field or professional qualifications such as ACCA is preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in handling Corporate Tax matters (i.e. Indirect Tax)
• Able to handle a large sized tax computation such as POS Malaysia.
• Tactical and process-oriented problem solving.
• Experience in leading team members on activities such as as-is process and maturity assessment, technology evaluation, opportunity identification, business case and roadmap creation and implementation of recommendations 
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
