GRU’s Water/Wastewater Engineering Department is looking for an Engineering Intern. The ideal intern will have a background in Engineering, AutoCAD, or Geospatial Data Science and have a flexibility and willingness to tackle any assignment, with a combination of both office and field work.

Specialty Printing and Technology Solutions (SPTS) brings HP inkjet technology to new markets through partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).  SPTS applies an entrepreneurial approach to quickly identify and pursue market opportunities for the application of TIJ technology. SPTS provides TIJ solutions to a wide range of markets by leveraging, repurposing, designing and refining HP assets to enable our OEMs success.  SPTS team members have direct customer impact and business influence.

This position will support the Manufacturing Engineering Team within SPTS, which has manufacturing and new product introduction responsibilities.    As a member of the SPTS Manufacturing Engineering team, you will have responsibilities covering product assurance of supply, product cost, product quality, and supplier sourcing, selection, and management. Representing the operations organization as part of broader new product introduction programs, and support manufacturing specific projects.  Will work closely with internal colleagues in Engineering, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Operations and Procurement.

You will also have procurement and manufacturing responsibilities for part of SPTS’s product portfolio, which may include printheads, suppliers, hardware, enablers, and lower-level components.  leading efforts towards data transformation.   This includes working with the team to identify the right product and MPa measures and metrics, automate data and information collection, and present it in an accessible manner that provides insight and understanding to drive action.

The EMAG (Engineering Modeling and Analysis Group) Intern will work as a part of our R&D analysis team. You will work with partners to develop and run simulations that uncover fundamental learnings, expedite design cycles, and generate insights. EMAG is responsible for the development and deployment of predictive and diagnostic computational modeling in new technology and product development.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for running computational models and writing scripts to simplify processes and improve efficiency. You will work with our group of Fluidic, Thermal and Structural modelers to collaborate with internal development teams to improve and better understand their designs and processes.

Required Skills:

• Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience using Abaqus, Altair, Ansys, or equivalent tools
• 1+ years of demonstrated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience using Fluent, CFX, Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM,  or equivalent tools
• 1+ years of experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, FORTRAN, C++, etc. .)
• Ability to work effectively on a globally distributed team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Eager, quick learner with strong team-work spirit
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills
• Able to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2024, and not require sponsorship in the future

Desired Skills:

• Working towards a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related fields
• 1+ years of demonstrated Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience using Abaqus, Altair, Ansys, or equivalent tools

ACS (Advanced Compute & Solutions) is seeking a Back-End Software Engineer for our high growth, future-oriented businesses including Data Science, AI and other emerging areas. This role will work with some of the most exciting up-and-coming products in HP. 

As a Backend Engineer within our Data Science Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust backend systems that support our  applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and product managers, to build scalable and reliable infrastructure to provide solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs to support applications.  Collaborate with other software engineers, to integrate pipelines and ensuring seamless applications and integrations from various sources. In addition to support data-intensive applications and machine learning models.

• Work closely with front-end engineers to design API endpoints and ensure smooth integration between front-end and back-end component.

• Implement efficient algorithms and data structures to optimize system performance and data retrieval.

• Participate in code reviews, identify barriers, propose solutions to enhance system reliability, scalability and security.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies, best practices and the fast-changing area of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven 5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in data-intensive or machine learning-focused projects.

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar languages.

• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and optimizing database queries for performance.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or others) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiar with Agile methodology concepts for software development.

Education and Experience Required:  

• 5+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer or similar role.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
