• Bachelor/Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience in a related field
• Good knowledge of Python programming
• Proficient in developing and maintaining SQL/NoSQLdatabases
• Familiarity in developing workflow pipelines using technologies such as CWL or Nextflow
• Expertise in using Unix operating systems and HPC job schedulers (SLURM)
• Experience in full stack application development/deployment, and able to implement new features swiftly
• Demonstrated ability to containerize tools (docker/singularity)
• Strong communication skills, with a focus on documentation
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders

You will be a member of a professional team responsible for the financial, operational, and risk management reviews of the F&N Group’s operations in the region.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and perform financial and operational audits in accordance with the approved annual audit plan using a risk-based approach.
• Design and apply data analytics techniques in assigned projects
• Ensure assigned projects are completed in a timely manner and within the project budget allocated.
• Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of the financial and operational processes and related internal controls, and ensure compliance with the Group’s corporate governance framework.
• Identify weaknesses in control activities and make value-added recommendations for process improvements.
• Communicate audit findings to local management via conducting of closing meetings at the end of fieldwork review.
• Prepare audit report to present the audit issues, risks and recommendations.
• Prepare appropriate and accurate workpaper documentation in accordance with documentation standards maintained by the Group Internal Audit.
• Perform ad hoc tasks and special projects/reviews as assigned from time to time.
• Suggest improvements in department matters relating to systems, processes or documentation.

Requirements:

• Recognised degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualification recognised by The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).
• At least 5 to 6 years’ post qualifying audit experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm or an Internal Audit department of a multinational enterprise. Operational experience in manufacturing industry would be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in use of auditing tools and techniques such as risk-based audit planning, analytical review, computer-assisted audit technique and data analytics
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong business communication, interpersonal and report writing skills
• Willingness to travel overseas (about 50%).

Job Description

The Institute for Environment & Sustainability (IES) is looking for proactive and enthusiastic candidates for full-time Research Associate to be part of our growing team focused on building climate and sustainability policy design, policy dialogues, and transition pathways in Singapore, Southeast Asia, Asia, as well as within transnational and global governance initiatives.

Research Associates will engage not only in research projects but also in our ongoing efforts to further develop the Institute including carrying out seminars, workshops, and policy dialogues.

Job Scope

The job scope includes:

• Assisting in events management for the Institute
• Supporting the PIs with research /project administration within the Institute
• Supporting ongoing applied research projects on water policy/governance conducted in the Institute, including:Conduct of literature reviews
  Design, preparation and execution of research studies
  Analysing research data (qualitative / quantitative) and packaging them into sections of a report
  Manuscript preparation for publication/reports
