Job Description

Job Requirements

Academic Education / Training / Experience

• PhD degree holder in education, learning sciences or the social sciences from a reputable university. PhD candidates nearing completion will also be considered.
• At least five years of working experience, preferably with practice experience, especially in CET contexts, such as a CET Centre, Training Provider, Institute of Higher Learning, a corporate academy or an enterprise Learning and Development team.
• Experience in leadership and management of diverse teams would be an advantage.
• Capacity to extend and reinforce the interdisciplinary, boundary-spanning and change-oriented nature of the MBX through collaboration and innovative design.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and engage positively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Learning & Development

• Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the COMO Hotels and Resorts New Hire Orientation Program.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Training & Development Manager (Electric Vehicles) located in Singapore. The Training & Development Manager will be responsible for the overall design, delivery and evaluation of training and development programs and initiatives for the electric vehicle industry. The Manager will also manage trainers and course developers, and work closely with other departments and business partners to ensure consistency and effectiveness of programs for all AKC learners.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Training & Development Manager (Electric Vehicles) encompass the following:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive, learner-centric training plans for Electric Vehicles.

2. Manage relationships with external training partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality training programs. Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and update training materials, ensuring relevance and accuracy.

3. Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in electric vehicle technology to ensure training materials are up-to-date.

4. Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and participant communication.

5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, implementing improvements as needed.

6. Work closely with internal teams to align training programs with organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of in-depth experience in Electric Vehicles (preferably hands-on experience)
• In-depth knowledge of Electric Vehicle technology and industry trends
• Experience in project and people management
• Strong communication, leadership, and people management skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and work under pressure
• Experience with e-learning tools and software
• Experience with technical writing and documentation
• Understanding of learning principles and theories, as well as emerging trends and technologies in training and development

JOB SUMMARY

Helps drive company values and philosophy and ensures all training and development activities are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision. Works with property leadership team to identify and address employee and organizational development needs. The position is responsible for ensuring effective training is in place to enable the achievement of desired business results. Training programs focus on a variety of topics, including product knowledge, company philosophy, and customer service and leadership skills. Conducts needs assessments, designs and develops training programs and facilitates the delivery of both custom and corporate training programs. Measures the effectiveness of training to ensure a return on investment.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the human resources or related professional area; certified trainer.

OR

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; certified trainer; no work experience required.

Administering Employee Training Programs

• Promotes and informs employees about all training programs.

• Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.

• Helps employees identify specific behaviors that will contribute to service excellence.

• Ensures employees receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.

• Uses effective training methods to ensure employees have a good understanding of guest satisfaction and can demonstrate guest satisfaction skills.

• Meets with training cadre on a regular basis to support training efforts.

• Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and/or managers.

Evaluating Training Programs Effectiveness

• Monitors enrollment and attendance at training classes.

• Meets regularly with participants to assess progress and address concerns.

• Partners with operational leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills.

• Reviews comment cards, guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas of improvement.

• Measures transfer of learning from training courses to the operation.

• Ensures adult learning principles are incorporated into training programs.

Developing Training Program Plans and Budgets

• Ensures all training and development activities (department specific and general property training) are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision.

• Identifies performance gaps and works with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to improve performance.

• Makes any necessary adjustments to training methodology and/or re-trains as appropriate.

• Aligns current training and development programs to effectively impact key business indicators.

• Establishes guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters.

• Develops specific training to improve service performance.

• Drives brand values and philosophy in all training and development activities.

• Incorporates guest satisfaction as a component of departmental meetings with a focus on continuous improvement.

Managing Training Budgets

• Participates in the development of the Training budget as required.

• Manages budget in alignment with Human Resources and property financial goals.

• Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.

• Utilizes P-card if appropriate to control and monitor departmental expenditures.

Job Description:

1. HE Programme Delivery: Administer support systems and delivery operations. Ensure that the Learning Management System is set up in accordance to procedures and take corrective actions to remedy deviation from standards.

2. Operation Coordination with Partners and Head of Programmes/Academics: Maintain good relations with partners on data transfer, review of operational concerns, resolve pertinent issues and suggest improvements. Communicate

timely updates and changes to key stakeholders including students and staff. Organise events to host partner visits and facilitate interaction with students.

3. Lecturer Management: Liaise with the academic staff to confirm the deployment of qualified lecturers. Ensure quality teaching is provided to students.

4. Process Innovation: Spearhead digitalisation and automation initiatives for the department.

5. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Ensure accuracy in budgeting.

6. Class Scheduling and Assessment Management: Work with internal departments on class scheduling and assessment management plans.

7. Marketing and Recruitment: Engage and support colleagues in Student Recruitment Group (SMR) with marketing and recruitment efforts. Ensure that all marketing collaterals and website are updated.

8. People Management: Deploy and supervise work teams to achieve their goals.

9. Programme Review: Follow through changes (system setup, etc) for Programme reviews (internal and external).
