Objectives of the Position

• The role a key member of the Asia Pacific Communications (COMS) team and collaborates with a global network of Communications professional in Agricultural Solutions, and the company. The COMS community serves to strengthen, nurture, and protect the brand and reputation of BASF in agriculture.

Main Tasks:

Serves as moderator, timekeeper and/or record taker as needed.
• Works with key functions of HR and Commercial Excellence to drive employee engagement and CX changes across the region.

Serves as the editor of the regional COMS platforms such as Intranet, Quarterly region update, relevant news to the region.
• Hands on responsibility for creating presentations, videos, content needed by the business. Manage and organize the regional coms content library – proactively coordinating the collection and creation of photos, videos, and other visuals, and guiding regional and country teams on their effective use.
• Track and monitor the effectiveness of communications activities to show value to business stakeholders.

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

• Identify opportunities to raise the profile of Agricultural Solutions in Asia Pacific and position the company as a thought leader in the industry via creation of new formats and/or participation in industry seminars and events, media interviews, opinion articles and advertising campaigns.
• Provision of strategic communications expertise and support to members of the senior leadership team to create and deliver compelling messages for key internal and external stakeholders across the region – including media events, key account customer meetings, industry events, and customer conferences.
• Active member of the Agricultural Solutions communications team in Asia Pacific, participates in select global calls and contributes to regional communications programs and activities. Liaise with global, regional, and country leaders to support the needs and interests of Asia Pacific and the Agricultural Solutions business respectively.
• Support crisis communication in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Prepare position papers, media responses as a part of issue management, and any incident/safety reactive messaging.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

• Draft and review news releases and media pitches, prepare external communication materials in line with corporate and global one voice (incl. press releases and customer presentations), and coordinate media relations contacts for the Agricultural Solutions business across countries.
• Develop, steer, and implement global and regional communications projects that build the reputation of company.

Requirements:

• Minimum degree in communication, marketing, or other related field.
• Career history of at least 12 years with a minimum of 10 years in communications of a corporate environment. Experience of working a few years in an agency or in a regional responsibility is a plus.
• Working experience in a large multinational company with multiple stakeholders across various locations, experience in agriculture / chemical / bio-pharmaceutical industry a nice-to-have.

Our unit, Operations Aroma Ingredients is responsible for global production of our market leading products.

Main Tasks:

• Responsible for Operational Excellence of assigned complex key technologies & value chains over their lifecycle (standard operation, start-up, shutdown, stand-by, turnaround, troubleshooting, quality, regulatory, etc.) and continuously drive technical process optimization and operational excellence in all assets (technical documentation, sharing of best practices, etc.) in order to improve reliability and reduce product costs.
• Main contact for operations teams, technology, marketing, supply chain and quality units as well as for the project management for our assets and products with focus on Asia.

Main Tasks:

(Purchase to Strategy):

• Define boundaries and targets for upcoming negotiations.
• Identify the requirements of OD such as specification, logistics requirements and demand development.
• Identify the suppliers to be invited to the negotiation based on requirements from iBP. Perform Contract Negotiation Board to get the approval for negotiation boundary (e.g. ZOPA – zone of possible agreement)
• Negotiate with supplier(s) based on category strategy, within boundaries approved by Contract Negotiation Board.
• Finalize the contract and/or purchase condition if the result of negotiation is within defined boundaries and targets, otherwise seek approval from respective approver based on value threshold.
• Contract implementation & monitoring: manage contracts and decide on appropriate actions; inform relevant parties (e.g., Shared Service Center, iBP) about negotiation results; manage supply issues and/or sales allocation/force majeure situations, monitor rebate or other conditions set in the contract.

(Purchase to Pay):

• Follow the Buying Channel guideline. Approve R1/R2 for Purchase Order / Outline Agreement in SAP and follow up approval until final release to issue purchase order and perform payment after goods receipt.

(Supplier Management)

• Negotiate with supplier for claims with Very High non-conformance management (NCM) cases. Be the escalation point for to get the feedback from supplier for improvement measure to prevent the same happening.
• Collect required documents from supplier(s) for master data processes and internal/external Audits.
• Escalation points for NCM management (with support from Operational Officer) especially for claim negotiation.
• Supplier Management: Approve qualified suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, define supplier development plans, decide on disqualification and phase-out of existing suppliers, drive supplier innovation.
• Maintain strategic relationship with key suppliers.

(Communicate with internal Business Partner):

• Provide input for Round Table Meeting with business units.
• Provide input for Negotiation Tracker Savings and respective saving plans for individual business unit.
• Communicate prices / decisions / market intelligence to the internal business partners.

(Risk management):

• Manage single source situation by providing alternative sources available in the market and following up the approval at our sites.
• Invite suppliers to join Sustainability-in-Procurement activities such as TfS (please explain TfS in full extension) evaluation and Supplier Carbon Management Program.

Objectives:

• Operating the Antioxidant (AO) manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality standards
• Basic experience in Panel Distributed Control System (DCS) and field operations for all the production lines to progressively attain full familiarity with both panel DCS and field production operations

Responsibilities:

• Operates the production units in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and as instructed by the Production Engineer
• Good knowledge of process flow of all production units including tank-farm, utility to fulfils the tasks as follows:

1. Familiarity with Emergency procedures for the safe operation and shutdown of units through DCS.
2. Perform field operator routines such as raw material and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), 5S rounds, filter change outs etc.
3. Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks.
4. Learn and Operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision of Senior/Lead Technician.
5. Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment.
6. Coordinate and work with the team members and contractors to complete plant tasks in a safe and timely manner.
7. In case of emergency, performs the activities of a firefighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
8. Perform in-process sampling and testing.
9. Perform simple maintenance jobs, opening and boxing up of equipment, handles tools in accordance with safety requirement.
10. Troubleshoot where required; initiate corrective measures in accordance with his supervisors and maintains proper documentation trail; update process log-book and hand over documents.
11. Participate in plant safety activities and housekeeping and safety programs
