We are very excited to be recruiting for a Senior Student and Family Support Worker (Offsite Learning Provision) at Rowhill School. Rowhill School is a Pupil Referral Unit serving 13.5 secondary schools across North-East and East Hampshire. We have capacity to work with approximately 82 students on our roll at any one time and work with upwards of 50 students through our outreach programmes either in their mainstream schools or their homes. Students are referred to Rowhill School for a variety of reasons including being medically unfit for school, emotionally vulnerable, at risk of permanent exclusion or because they have been permanently excluded from school.
This is as an exciting opportunity to be part of the introduction of an offsite learning provision designed to support students who are struggling to attend their mainstream school. The successful candidate will provide in home support for students tailored to whatever need is preventing them from successfully attending their mainstream school and once ready will support students to return to their mainstreams in liaison with home school staff. This is a developmental opportunity and as the provision grows it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have the skills to lead a team of Student and Family Support Workers to effectively deliver this provision.
The aim of this role will be to work with students, their families in their homes and in liaison with their mainstream school to support their learning and emotional needs. [What the role is]

The Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) is a division of the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS). At CCRS, our mission is to advance scientific understanding of tropical climate variability and change and its associated weather systems affecting Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region, so that the knowledge and expertise can benefit decision makers and the community. Our vision is to be a world leading centre in tropical climate and weather research focussing on the Southeast Asia region.

Within CCRS, the High Performance Computing (HPC) Branch is responsible for the technical development, optimization, implementation and management of CCRS’s software systems running on in-house ‘Utama’ and Singapore National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) HPC systems. CCRS’s core ‘SINGV’ weather/climate modelling system is a regional, tropical configuration of the Unified Model (UM), used in both weather (Numerical Weather Prediction – NWP) and climate change (regional climate projections) applications. CCRS is also enhancing its rainfall nowcasting capabilities (predicting heavy rainfall in Singapore over the next 30-60 minutes) using machine learning techniques in collaboration with local and international partners.
