Payroll Analyst
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst provides relevant payroll, benefits, financial and/or tax related analysis for the payroll and annual financial cycles. They act as the primary contact for Corporate to assess, recommend and resolve all issues related to expatriate’s pay and is accountable for completing the reporting to the external tax services provider. The analyst is also accountable for the completion and accuracy of the annual preparation of all tax forms and annual reporting to the provincial agencies. Performs all payroll and accounting reconciliations, including benefits and pensionable earnings.
Primary Activities:
Process end -to-end semi-monthly payroll processing and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance to legislations, company policies and procedures and internal controls.
Accountable for the full preparation of the annual tax forms for active and retiree group benefits, T2200 forms and completes required updates and reviews for all year-end adjustments (car taxable benefits, pension-related adjustments, etc.).
Extracts and performs data analysis for payroll related projects or in answer to requests from internal clients such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax or Human Resources teams and supports audit requests and external inquiries by preparing requested information.
Verification, accuracy and completeness of payroll journal entries for all companies, using multiple accounting systems.
