• You will be responsible for engineering analysis, planning, requirements definition and related advanced engineering work to ensure that facilities and resident capabilities are in place to support existing and new FBM/TRIDENT systems.

You will:

• Serve as the lead for multi-disciplinary EPA and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) national workgroups to assess technical information, provide analysis findings and develop written studies, proposals, project plans, technical papers and publication.
• Perform work involving the analysis of programmatic, scientific/engineering, and technical environmental issues and the proposal, development, and promulgation of technical standards, guidelines, and policies to protect water resources.
• Provide expert advice and assistance to FHWA, EPA Headquarters, and regional offices, as well as state/local transportation authorities on matters relating to the development, execution, and monitoring of stormwater and watershed protection policies, plans, and programs.

As a Nuclear Engineer, you will:

• Serve as cognizant engineer responsible for oversight of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Moored Training Ships and Land-based Prototypes used for student training.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the research, development, design, acquisition, specification, construction, inspection, installation, certification, testing, overhaul, refueling, operating practices and procedures, maintenance, supply support, and ultimate disposition of naval nuclear propulsion plants.
• Provide engineering advice, guidance and assistance to program offices or site managers on the interpretation and application of technical requirements and policies, evaluation of modifications and/or alternative approaches, and corrective actions as required.

This position is located in the Division of DLNG - Facility Review & Inspections, Washington, DC or Houston Regional Office, in the Office of Energy Projects.

As a Civil Engineer, some of your typical work assignments may include:

• Reviewing engineering related data in applications for proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities; performing calculations required for the site-specific review of hazards (i.e., thermal radiation, vapor cloud dispersion, overpressure, toxicity) at LNG facilities; conducting post-authorization final design reviews for proposed LNG facilities; inspecting the construction of LNG facilities; and conducting the cryogenic design and technical reviews for operational LNG facilities.
