The Senior Director, Product Development and Innovation is accountable for the development and execution of a multi-year product development strategy and pipeline that aligns to Prime’s current and future strategic objectives. This position drives a consistent and repeatable product development methodology and facilitates strategic product initiatives across Prime with a focus on innovation that drives affordability and creates external value. The Senior Director provides leadership to the product development & innovation function and drives the development, maintenance, and publication of market differentiating product roadmaps. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to research, pricing, conceptualizing, translating market research and needs, mobilizing design teams, providing product content expertise for implementing and launching new products and enhancements and facilitating external vendor relationships for product development.
Develop in conjunction with innovation leadership, a multi-year product development strategy and pipeline that aligns to Prime’s current and future strategic objectives; collaborate with functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Line of Business General Managers, and senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment, prioritization, funding, and resource allocation.
Manage team of individuals responsible for product development and innovation; oversee progress of enterprise innovation and product development initiatives; present and report overall status updates to Innovation Solution leadership.
Provide Innovation Solutions dashboards and reporting to Prime and Client leadership, intended to drive awareness and support of Product initiatives, seek resolution on enterprise level issues, and solicit sponsorship for future products investments and enhancements.
Establish and ensure enterprise commitment to a comprehensive and repeatable product development methodology; provide leadership on collaborative product development initiatives with cross-functional teams, clients, and third-party administrators; support, and at times, participate in project stage gate approval presentations for executive committees.
Provide direction related to business cases, feasibility assessments, pricing assessments and financial (ROI) analysis.
Work with Prime’s Client Engagement and Marketing teams to develop and reinforce a compelling value story, inclusive of socialization strategies, training materials and launch plans.
Maintain in-depth industry and competitive insights to proactively evaluate new product development opportunities, anticipate changing market needs, and identify possible enhancements; maintain and coordinate cadence of product competitive intelligence and calendar activities to bring awareness, readiness, and to establish and maintain repeatable cadence of product activities.
Represent the Innovation Solutions team in key Client Engagement and client-facing forums to implement product development initiatives, identify and support early adopters and pilot participants, and gain feedback and support for future products.
Manage department budget, staffing, performance and development, and consistently demonstrate Prime’s leadership expectations during interactions with direct reports, cross functional and external stakeholders.
Identifies and executes initiatives to transform the company's products into more efficient and price sensitive offerings.
Translates market and customer needs into recommendations and specifications for products, product features, and leverages creativity to design new affordability solutions where new markets can be created.
Serves as the company's product & innovation subject matter expert for customer relationships as related to strategic initiatives that provide external value.
Through presentations and ongoing consultations provides information about trends, benchmarks and strategies to better position customer offerings.
Manages people, prioritizes deliverables, and translates initiatives into a product roadmap.
Negotiates at all levels, finding common ground and obtaining buy-in around strategies and tactics.
Delivers professional presentations to senior leadership, external customers, and consultant audiences.
Facilitates external vendor relationships and partnering to design and build strategic initiatives.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $165,000 - $180,000 / year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
