Job Description

Role Overview

The Mass Foundation Cluster (MFC) has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to oversee the capital and reporting requirements of the Retail Mass Protection and Investment products.

A key focus will be to lead a team of professionals responsible for the ongoing monitoring, reporting and forecasting of the financial impacts of the Old Mutual Limited strategy. The team will also be responsible for all Retail Mass Market (RMM) capital related work, including SCR and ORSA shocks, cost of capital calculations, earnings at risk calculations and capital forecasts.

Key Result Areas

• Capital Management – Oversee production and analysis of capital calculations including SCR, ORSA and earnings at risk.
• Financial Reporting - Presenting results to senior stakeholders and submission of valuation results (IFRS17, MCEV and SAM). 
• Monthly Reporting – Ongoing monitoring and analysis (outside of valuation periods) of the financial impacts of the OML strategy. 
• Business Planning / Forecasting – Produce the business plan and other forecasts to estimate future financial impacts of the business strategy.  
• Funding – Project and request funding requirements.
• Continuous Improvements – Enhancements of models, creating of efficient processes and managing the data consolidation framework
• Projects - Support the delivery of project objectives

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

• Qualified actuary or actuarial student with a minimum of 14 exam credits and 6 years’ actuarial experience
• Financial reporting and/or valuation experience
• Management experience
• High level of accountability and ownership
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of the South African Life Insurance environment, products and systems would be advantageous

• Support the development of a new system to allow customer service team to self-service for Par Fund related customers’ queries
• Work closely with various stakeholders in providing actuarial technical support or solution for setup of the new system
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for setup of the new system
• Assist in annual bonus declaration study and implementation
• Assist in request for revised benefit illustration escalated to Actuarial
• Assist in policy enquiries escalated to Actuarial
• Assist in documentation relating to Par and UL processes
• Assist in other ad hoc requests / projects relating to Par and UL business

•   Banking domain knowledge is must have

•   API Testing is must have (with Postman)

•   Mobile testing on Real devices, simulators or cloud platforms will be a major plus

•   Functional testing expertise to support different test levels and types

•   Hands on experience in using test and defects management tools - Jira, Confluence, XRay, etc.

•   Proven experience in performing quality engineering and testing activities for , API, Mobile, Web testing

•   Basics of Java (will be a plus)

•   Basic working experience with Java on atleast any of the Test-Automations tools - Selenium, Cypress, Rest-Assured, Appium

•   Maintain & provide inputs on End to End Test Approach for Functional and Automation against Web, API, or Mobile testing

•   Ability to work and co-ordinate among Scrum team and Stakeholders.

Job Purpose

You will assist with the successful implementation of IFRS 17 for the Group as a key member of the IFRS 17 project team, by contribution of Actuarial expertise and information.

The Job

· Provide technical guidance and Group oversight for the implementation of IFRS17 across entities;

· Work closely with production team for the finalisation of IFRS 17 parallel run results;

· Translate IFRS 17 technical requirements into system and business requirements;

· Involve in the Group-wide design / implementation of target operating model for IFRS 17 as well as end-to-end solutions from Prophet to accounting systems;

· Review model results and implement changes to Prophet/DCS for IFRS 17 purpose;

· Conduct end-to-end testing on Actuarial systems for IFRS17 purpose; and

· Support the audit of IFRS 17 methodology and results

· Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.

· Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.

· Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Our Requirements

· Good progress in Actuarial examinations from a recognized International Actuarial body;

· At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in actuarial field, practical experience in IFRS 17 is preferred;

· Familiar with Singapore RBC regulations and / or IFRS 17 is an advantage;

· Excellent communication and organisation skills;

· Excellent technical, analytical, and problem solving skills;

· Proactive in initiating and leading discussion with various stakeholders including senior management; and

· Highly proficient at Actuarial software such as Prophet and DCS.

· High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork. //

· Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
