Job Description

The Senior Product Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving the execution of quality goals and objectives with a strong emphasis on New Product Introduction (NPI).  The ability to leverage prior experience and expertise during the early stages of product design to contribute in terms of Design for Reliability, Durability, Manufacturability/Assembly and Testability is essential. This position requires the ability to proactively drive actions internally and throughout the supply base, including manufacturing partners and tier one suppliers to meet internal and external customer expectations for quality. 

Specific responsibilities include:

• Serve as a key member in the New Product Development team to anticipate and proactively manage product quality, durability and reliability issues and improvement opportunities.
• Develop plans for preventing and addressing quality, durability and reliability issues and drive key lessons learned into the NPI process.

• Working knowledge of Federal Regulations (not limited to 21 CFR 806, 21 CFR 820, and Medical Device Reporting Guidelines) and understanding the consequences of product issues on product performance, customer acceptance, customer risk, and compliance.
• Medical Device Report filings and maintenance of database for support of internal and external monthly reports. Implements and maintains the effectiveness of the quality system.

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Regulatory Affairs is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Relevant experience, such as Quality, Compliance, and Engineering, within a regulated environment, such as medical device, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics

Position Summary :

The primary duties are to develop and improve products through experimentation, perform tests on food ingredients and ensurethat correct methodologies are used to generate information for the required food quality and consistency standards. He/She supports the production function by providing food science expertise in designing processes to manufacture new products; meeting regulatory requirements for sales and export, as well as Halal compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Innovate new food products

• Create product prototypes through experimentation and laboratory tests
• Explore new applications of existing products and processes
• Evaluate products’ characteristics and shelf life for implications on quality and scalability
• Establish product specifications and documentation
• Formulate product refinements based on sensory testing and consumer data

Conduct tests for food quality

• Guide sample collection activities, to ensure compliance with specified procedures
• Perform appropriately for abnormal occurrences affecting sampling conditions

• Conduct follow-up tests on samples that require attention
• Document, compile and summarise experimental data for review and interpretation

• Conceptualise mass production processes using current facilities and equipment

Liase with suppliers

• To represent Product Assurance as part of a new US-based sonar development team to deliver development and acceptance testing to software and hardware development. A major part of this role will be managing and maintain a test boat which will be based close to the development team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain readiness of a Teledyne-owned boat which will be located close to the development team
• Provide Captain and or crew support for the test boat
• Manage the boat to a defined budget
