SUMMARY:
The University Recruiting team is looking for a team-oriented individual as a summer intern to support the execution of the summer internship program, and strategic planning initiatives for our campus recruitment season. This position will heavily center on event coordination and execution, branding support, and process improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to gain visibility into university recruiting. As a key member of the Talent Acquisition (TA) Operations & Programs team, your contributions will support the successful delivery of our internship program and influence Rakuten’s approach to early career hiring.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support coordination and execution of in-person summer intern events and initiatives.
Maintain intern program administrative processes such as the event feedback process, organizing and maintain intern data, and manage the UR event supplies closet.
Manage front-facing intern program information on our internal company webpage portal.
Create and own the distribution of the weekly intern program newsletter.
Create marketing content for university recruiting and campus outreach initiatives.
Conduct research on UR resources and best practices to support the advancement of campus recruiting strategy and goals.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $20 - $30 per hour. Within FM, the Modelling & Analytics Group (‘MAG’) is accountable for design, development and delivery of real-time pricing models, risk models and core infrastructure which are used in enabling pricing, market data, intra-day risk reporting capability, and portfolio level analytics including reporting and capital optimization.
We’re hiring Haskell developers for the front office Modelling and Analytics Group. We have dozens of developers working in very diverse financial market projects within corporate and institutional banking. Some of our projects are user-facing GUIs, others are server-side request handlers or reporting tools. Their scope ranges from small applications to support a single team, to processes that handle millions of trades, or have thousands of users. We use Haskell (or our in-house variant, Mu) for practically everything we do.
We expect solid computer science knowledge, but you may also be responsible for architecture design, stakeholder communication, and some project management. You’ll be expected to work in both Windows and Linux environments. We use git for source control and the Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira) for code reviews, documentation and project tracking. No finance knowledge is required, but good communication and collaboration skills are essential.
