Job Details

• Developing a complete understanding of all internal and supplier engineering processes, new commercial initiatives, best practice and the impact of inefficient processes, reviews or outcomes on customer journey, leakage etc.

Responsibilities

• Executing risk based financial, operational and compliance audit which includes developing internal audit scope and audit planning.
• Prepare audit program and document work performed in a clear and organised manner.
• Conduct review and testing for controls and compliance with best practices, policies and procedures.

About the Role

Base Location: You will be based in one of our UK Training Centres at Thatcham or Perth

As an Internal Quality Assurance Verifier, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the quality assurance of training and assessments within our training centres, overseeing externally accredited qualifications such as Streetworks (NRSWA) Training and technical apprenticeships. The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Coordinating and monitoring assessments carried out at our training centres and other business locations ensuring that the qualification scheme and awarding body requirements are implemented consistently by the assessment teams.

- Maintaining accurate reports and records of verification activity to allow for auditing by the external verifier and providing appropriate information and records to the external verifier to demonstrate that the quality assurance requirements of the awards are met.

- Liaising with awarding body external verifiers and auditors in maintaining accreditation as an approved provider of training and assessment for the centre fulfilling the role of centre coordinator.

- Arranging assessor standardisation reviews and observations as well as maintaining records of standardisation evidence for external verification.

- Supporting in the development of and ensure compliance with assessment plans and procedures for the completion of power apprenticeship End Point Assessments with evidence collated for external review panels or auditors. You will work with the technical training managers to implement and maintain the same standards of compliance for internally awarded certifications, as for externally accredited qualifications.

What do I need?

As Internal Quality Assurance Verifier, you'll need to have sufficient occupational and technical competence to carry out the role and be confirmed as competent by any associated awarding bodys external verifier. You'll be able to operate within the safety culture and values of SSE and be able to promote these across the team so good communication skills are essential. You'll have good technical knowledge that can support the assessing and verification process for all required qualifications and be flexible to travel regularly within the UK to our delivery locations to monitor training and assessment activity.

To be considered for this role, we would also love you to have:

- Vocational experience working within the Power or Utilities Sector, including working on the highway.

- Experience in quality assurance and verification of accredited qualifications including auditing.

- Hold or be working towards a Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training as well as NRSWA Supervisor Units.

- Proficiency in the use of IT equipment and Microsoft packages to maintain records and produce reports with a focus on sustainable ways of working to maximise the use of digital systems.

- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team, adapting to a changing workload and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.

About The Job

Job Responsibilities

• Single contributor role
• Reports into Singapore CEO and Regional Head of Legal
• Draft, review and negotiate on a host of documents, agreements and contracts
• Provide legal advice to management and supporting the business on a variety of employment and commercial issues to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Advise on legal risks and potential liabilities, offering strategic solutions to mitigate risks
• Manage and keep custody of contracts signed by the Company
• Handle legal aspects of client agreements and disclosures
• Manage and negotiate contractual relationships with service providers and third parties
• Assist in resolving of disputes
• To perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• LLB degree with 8 to 10 years of work experience in corporate law
• Have at least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry
• Meticulous and able to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to prioritize, multi task and work under pressure
• Positive work attitude
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Good knowledge of Securities and Futures Act, relevant MAS and SGX regulations and understanding of Singapore employment law and practices

about the role

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall governance of the controls across the APAC region. You will streamline the process to ensure compliance with group policies and compliance. You will manage the entire governance program which includes the governance of the Risk Control Matrix and IT General Controls. You will interview the various departments’ stakeholders to understand the process flows. You will evaluate the financial records and to interpret policies and procedures. You will apply accounting and auditing standards to mitigate any risks and to enhance the control environment. You will design flowcharts and business plans to ensure that the overall business and internal controls’ objectives are met. You will update the accounting and finance policies in accordance with reporting standards and requirements to drive standardization.

skills and experience required

You should ideally possess an accounting degree from a reputable university and/or a CPA/CIA/CISA. You have more than 8 years experience in internal audit and internal controls. You possess strong business partnering, stakeholder management and good communication skills. You are a strong problem solver. Prior experience in a Bog4 will come as an advantage for this role.
