Upton Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking an experienced Production Manager for our Machine Workshop. In this position you will coordinate and work collaboratively with the planning and production of the team to deliver excellence to customers through innovation, quality, and compliance.
A key driver to the overall success of Upton Engineering and Manufacturing, the Production Manager will have an extensive CNC machining background, the ability to drive continual improvement and innovation, with a hunger for growth and passion for new technology.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating, forecasting, and monitoring job accuracy and quality.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
Experience in supervision within a jobbing shop environment with the ability to multitask and plan a schedule ahead of time.
Assess and inspect quality of workmanship and completion of tasks in accordance with the Quality Management System and all other Company/Client Contract guidance processes, procedures, and documentation
Interpret drawings, work orders and establish production schedules to establish product or job instructions, specifications. and delivery times
Review scope of works and monitor progress to ensure they conform with company processes, contract specifications, are on schedule and within quality and time estimates
Exhibit enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards career development of employees by identifying areas of strength, and weakness with a ‘win together’ mindset in liaison with team members
Operate within the team environment focusing on leading together with the best interest of our customers at focus
Have a strong passion for driving Australian Manufacturing and champion the growth of the next generation apprentices supporting Australia’s sovereign manufacturing capability
High attention to detail in all aspects of manufacturing including product defects, maintain very high housekeeping standards, machine maintenance schedules and servicing routines.
Skills and Experience:
Trade cert 111 mechanical engineering – fitter and turning
Demonstrate understanding of quality management systems under ISO 9001 (AS9100 preferred)
First aid – desirable
